SameTunes
Share music, discover new tunes, and connect with others!
After trying several different organic growth methods, our novel solution to solving the need gap for a place for listeners to easily share their music, no matter their streaming service, passed 10K users! The most successful method for us was posting in social groups (Ex: Facebook Groups) where comparing music with others would go viral. Additionally, partnering with influencers proved very successful at getting our name out there.
After a grueling 24 hours of managing our launch, our team managed to secure a place as the 5th product of the day. We hit peaks as high as third. An additional challenge was we launched alongside Facebook's Reels which took #1. So in our hearts, we are number #4. Very interesting experience that got us a lot of feedback.

After a summer of working hard on a new design and new features we launched version two of the SameTunes Platform. This version was much faster, more intuitive, and feature-packed. It also laid the foundation for additional features in the future. Especially social ones!

At the start of the summer, my partner and I gathered a team of five additional students to help us build out SameTunes LLC. We hired additional developers, a designer, and a head of PR. As part of the Create-X program, we began working daily on the idea as our fulltime job.

SameTunes was accepted into the Georgia Tech Create-X Startup Launch Program. The program lasts for the entire summer and includes a small amount of funding. This is also when my co-founder and I decide we will work on the idea full time over the summer.

In an attempt to validate the idea and get into the Create-X Accelerator program at Georgia Tech my partner and I released the first MVP version of the platform. It featured mainly comparisons and a lucky UI. However, it proved the concept and the fun users could have with the concept

Came up with the idea while on winter break from college. I had always to make a business that used the Spotify API and found myself constantly exhausted by having to explain my music tastes to people. I often felt like I was being judged or had too profile the other person. So I thoughts there had to be a better way!

About
We believe there is a gap in the way people share and discover music with friends. There is no go-to music social network out there. Our team is a group of music enthusiasts who enjoy spreading fun through music.

How did you partner with influencers? What did you offer them?
Two main ways. The first and most obvious is just money. We partnered (paid) with several smaller-scale TikTok influencers to run several promotions and competitions for us. The other not so obvious way was by offering some of our artist-only services for free.
