Save Code
Chrome extension to save & organize code snippets instantly
Submitted the extension to Product Hunt & featured 4 hours later!
Crossed over a 189 upvotes on PH and got quite some buzz on Twitter. Haven't tallied new signups and installations post-launch.
I'm sure there are still some bugs and issues, but I couldn't wait any longer to share this with the Product Hunt community
A stable and ready-to-share version of extension has been approved & published to the Web Store!
The list of Beta users testing the extension has reached 87!
Updates based on user feedback:
- Design updated for the "Save" button.
- A sidebar to access recent saves
- Select text anywhere and right-click to save as snippet.
- Save code in the same tab (previously it would open in a new tab to save).
- Private snippets ability added ( this will be a paid feature)

After a week of searching on Twitter, my intern got 27 email addresses of users learning to code.
We send the extension to them. One unexpected outcome was how some developers wanted to contribute directly to the project.
So I shared it on Github. I've been pleasantly surprised by the voluntary fixes and improvements.
I am glued to my desk for the next week addressing user suggestions and a ton of bugs.

After getting the idea, I got straight to learning, making, discarding, repeating. //Nothing makes sense. God, this is going to take me forever.
The weekend passes by and I'm still not making progress.
Yesterday evening, I envisioned the most basic, ugly, unsophisticated version of it. // Worth a try.
4 AM today: It's alive!!!

I was closing a 100 tabs after finally finding that one snippet on Stackoverflow that solved my problem. And thought I need a button to instantly save this snippet & page for the next time I need it.
Why not build a Chrome extension? One that ties in with my last web app (thiscodeworks).

It all started one month ago. When I was closing a 100 tabs after finally finding that one snippet on Stackoverflow that solved my problem. And thought I need a button to instantly save this for when I need it again.
