Through Metaii, we are receiving hands-on support to get a native app to market. The team is supporting us in software development, go-to-market strategy, product refinement, sales, business modelling, and connecting with investors. We're working toward bringing another team member on board and launching the product!

We crowdfunded our first loan to Gladys, a single mom in Kenya who needed funding to improve her farm. She was able to improve her crop farming, meet more demand in her village, and upgrade her living conditions for herself and her family. Our users chose to use their repayments to fund another loan in turn :)

We launched an MVP web platform with test users. We completed numerous problem/solution interviews to get here, and continued to get feedback in order to begin tweaking the design for an enhanced native app. Ours users absolutely loved the MVP:

We were accepted into the MaRS Start Program, giving us access to market research, mentors, workshops, startup credits, etc. We were one of 10 startups selected to participate in the pilot MaRS Liftoff program, essentially completing a startup bootcamp around finance, customer interviews, refining the value proposition, and marketing.

I began designing initial ideas for the app and looking for a technical cofounder. I was accepted to the Sprout Ideas Fellowship and received a small grant to begin exploring the idea and building a business around it. After many iterations of feedback and design, we began building the MVP.
