April 5, 2020 Today's post on HN brought me 100 visits!

This is a lot. But on the other side, much less than I expected. I will keep trying, mostly because my aim is not very focused on raising money, but on making the app really great, because I am using it for myself.

Have a couple ideas how to improve it:
a) translation - mostly i am advertising it on Russian and English sites. Nice to have it in local language
b) landing page - which will be shown only for the first time in order to make people understand the product better
c) fix some obvious UI bugs

After that I will try again :)

April 4, 2020 Added a link to feedback + Patreon

Over the last week, I had about 100 visits, that shows that there is an interest in general. The only distribution channel I used is finding some posts about money saving and advertising my app there. I think was is a time to do more: allow people to reach me and allow to support me on patreon. That's why I have updated my app slightly in order to enable these two things. And re-tested everything of course!

This week I'm still going to continue monitoring social media and promote my app in comments. Also, going to post on HackerNews and Product hunt.

February 5, 2020 MVP

During my free time I working on the app. I have chosen to make it a PWA with offline mode. Even more, all of the data is stored and processed locally, and no registration is required. This is to make the tool as easy to use and as secure as possible.

There is no monetization right now, but I hope to have some partnership with banks/brokers (ads) or subscription, once I will have at least 1000 regular users.

January 4, 2020 Had the idea

The idea of financial independence was always there for me. But my main job salary didn't allow to save anything.

After changing the job I eventually got some free money. And I was curious how much I need to save every month in order to reach my goals: financial independence, university for children, etc.

What I also wanted is a model which takes in account salary raises and interest rates.

That's how I started https://kopim.app.

About

I wanted to have an offline app, which monivates me to save enough money to achieve all my financial goals. My goals are long term, so the calculator takes under consideration salary raises, interest rates and inflation.
