Savvily
Risks assessment made easy on trading!
Keep in mind that I'm not using this tool to forecast the future stocks' prices. I'm just using this to assess risks and compare across different stocks and see for the same amount of money and risk what stocks I invest should invest to maximize my returns.
2018-08-01 after market report: https://getsavvily.com/index.html?td=2018_08_01
You can tweak the td parameter to get the after market report for different dates. This report is generated from billion-cap company list from Nasdaq and NYSE exchanges.
Probabilities are generated from Monte Carlo Simulations (params: 1000 runs per stock, each simulate will sample future 10 trading days' daily return)
I closed the old getsavvily.com about a month ago, since then I have doing some trading on the stock market.
I'm not using anything fancy algorithms to do forecasting. Instead, I just put up some spreadsheet and evaluated how much I should invest on certain stocks and what the risks were(how much I will lose in the worst case). This landed $5600 in my bank account now.
Now the strategy is still running and will update every couple of weeks here. I don't wanna to take on too much risk. My goal is to get about 5% returns every month consistently.

Good luck with that. Sounds like you got lucky with your first try and it made you feel like you had figured out an easy way to make money. I've been there!
If getting a consistent 5% returns in the stock market was as easy as keeping a spreadsheet with some simple indicators, everyone would be getting minimum 5% return in their portfolio.
Keep us posted though!-

I'm not saying it is easy and I'm not trying to make quick money here.
I'm trying to simplify the existing tools (such as Yahoo Finance and Tradingview) with a focus on risks assessments. I did a MVP for myself. Making sure I will use it before I let other people use it. Here is the after market report for date 2019-08-01: https://getsavvily.com/index.html?td=2019_08_01, if you want to take a look.
Coming from a machine learning background in school and working for few great companies before, I can tell no one can make a 100% accurate prediction. And the market is changing so quickly, risk assessments for me is enough and it is just simple work but requires a lot of manual works, I try to automate it a little bit.
Yahoo Finance and Tradingview are great tools I'm using them too.
https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/bac
https://www.tradingview.com/chart/?symbol=BACThe market is bullish now. It's investment or speculation, each take on different level of risks. I'm balancing my risks and take different approach for stocks. My tool will calculate how much you will lose in the worst case. This is also what I need tools for.

10 months later I made 20k in total stock. But I couldn't find ways to make a tool off from my different spreadsheets. Some of the money was made by luck.

The server and database were terminated. Here are the stats of the project:
- 20 users signed up.
- 1 paying user.
Few things I learned when starting a project:
-
Create a tool that I can use everyday. Be honest with myself, I found Savvily wasn't something I would use everyday. I tried using it for the first 3 days, and I wasn't happy with the experience and the content from the site. I try fixing it and found some alternatives (Feedly, Medium, Flipboard, Inoreader) can offer tons of content.
-
Make something I am willing to pay someone's to do it for me. If there is a tool/site online can solve your problem, just use it first. If it solves part of your problem, then evaluate how much you are willing to pay someone's to solve the other part of the problem. You can save tons a lot of time and efforts. Don't try to invest something you don't need.
Try to allocate my time to get that fixed in these couple of days.

I was first time using IH, and accidentally opened two threads. Sorry for the confusion. The first one I had was on: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/31484d8a29
Guys,
I always find it very difficult to find high quality articles online. You either need to set up keywords to track using Google Alert, which can be a lot of effort; or it will take time to find really good bloggers/topics to follow (Twitter, Medium, Pinterest, Feedly and many others). I want to make this easier. With my product Savvily, what you do is just browse like normal, and interesting articles will come to you instead.
By collecting your browse history(a chrome extension will do the work for you automatically), the recommendation model recommends articles based on your reading preference. So it is not bounded within certain websites or certain topics. Instead, you'll be able to explore unlimited articles.
I spent the last 10 days to code up this idea. Feedback and suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

I don’t understand your service

I agree with Gilli. Your landing page needs to explain the "Why" better and how it benefits a user.

What is it? Your landing page doesn't really answer that. Why is it a smarter way to explore posts? What kind of posts? Why should I want to use it? I could go on :)
