Rejected an acquisition offer ❌

Just turned down an offer to sell Scrapbook.

This came as a surprise to me, especially that I've launched it only a month ago.

The decision was an easy one though, as this project has been exceeding my expectations so far and my only goal right now is to keep growing it.

Still, it was another sign that people find it really valuable ;)

@kacper May be this is the right decision.
I would like to know how you came up with such a beautiful idea and the unique UI?
Have you worked in marketing sector earlier ?

You can read the backstory of how the project came to live in my IH launch post ;) tl;dr this database is something that I've been using for personal use in my marketer's role for quite some time now.

Thanks for the UI praise ;)

My cofounder and I were in a similar situation a few months ago with some production-related software. We took some time to explore the need and found it to be significant and ended with the same conclusion you did. Keep growing!

Hope this turns out good for both of us!

    Hey @kacper,

Just sent you an email about the book.

As a founder, one month is definitely too early if you care about the idea. You wouldn't be able to see how far it can go! Nice job turning down the easy route.

I see that this is a one time purchase, do you have plans of using any subscription model?

I do, although nothing specific at the moment. Have to figure out a good way to make people stay longer than just a month. And build the product ideally with no-code tools ;)

The celebrated part of an acquisition is the liquidity. The lesser-acknowledged part of an acquisition is the fact that you no longer have control over the product. I've seen that loss of purpose really mess with founders who exit. I'm happy that you made the decision that fits your purpose best :)

Agreed! I didn't even hesitate on my decision ;)

We didn't even get to this point as I wasn't interested in discussing the details. The project is only a month old, with really promising growth, so I want to make the most of the potential it has.
