Scraping The Web Made Easy
Well, It's been 2 days ( feels like an eternity :D ) since I had pre-launched ScrapeGram for its initial debut announcement.
Purpose of the pre-launch is of course to gather users who are interested and to collect general feedback regarding the product. I had posted an article in subreddit /r/startup. And had no luck getting any users or feedback from that post as well. Also, haven't had much luck of getting any users from ProductHunt Ship - Upcoming page launch either. Things are moving in a too slow pace when it comes to gathering users and feedback. One positive thing was, I've got one feedback from a user here thanks to IH community.
That's about it, but I have patience and gladly I have other things to worry about, so I am fully enrolled in writing POC's for most of the scenarios in Scraping strategies, right now engineering some POC's for Twitter Scraping. Faced several challenges, but was able to find solutions for most of them :).
Note to myself, keep hustling!
Finally launched my landing page with the ability to collect emails as subscriptions.
This took me a considerable amount of time to create because I made a bad decision to create this from scratch, And finally learned the lesson hard way. So just used MailChimp's form builder to manage the email list and integrated it on the site.

To increase signups, add some more information on the product.
What makes it different from other scrapers? Why should we be excited enough by it to give out our email addresses? What's the benefits?

To answer the question,
How ScrapeGram is different from other similar tools available?
ScrapeGram will be designed to support data scraping in specific platforms. Thus will be easy to obtain data using adjustable parameters for each platform as the user desires.
For instance, I have used some data-scrapers that are more general in terms of usage, so the user has to configure a lot of things manually in order to scrape the data they need. I couldn't find anything more specific for a desirable platform.
Furthermore, I am trying to make ScrapeGram more affordable in terms of pricing. I know its sounds corny, but the idea is to provide some strategic fair pricing models.
E.g: Giving a user the ability to pay for what they actually scrape.

What was the downside of creating from scratch?
And what does 'from scratch' mean here? Writing html and css?

The downside was spending too much time on it, I used React for frontend and for Backend I used AWS Lambda for the service which will write the entries to a DynamoDB. To put all together and integrate it would have consumed too much time. Hence decided to use something like MailChimp.

Because, having read/seen and experienced myself, It's a good idea to first trying to validate the idea, and gather more user insights on the idea before spending more time on the development of the actual product.
Some of IndieHackers's product's milestones gave me a lot of valuable insights.
I already had some experience building a Data Collecting web app called MuchCast. But due to limitations and my time constraints, I had to shut down the project.
I came up with ScrapeGram, as a solution to overcome issues I had when I tried using API's to collect data.
