So..

Yesterday I posted a link to IH of a very rough draft of Scraper Palace at www.scraperpalace.com -- IH was the only place I submitted the link and just once, via a community post.

Here is a link to a screen grab of the GA results from when I posted at around 7am to midnight.

Summary:
160 Users
352 Sessions
48% Bounce Rate
1m 42s Session Duration

I think these are pretty good stats consider the state of the website and that it is dummy content.

There has also been some fantastic feedback on the thread I posted this to:

Do you think all of this constitutes validation? I do.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts..

Conor

P.S. One thing to keep in mind is my competitors. Scraping is huge business and there are many other businesses. The thing is that these sites focus on extraction and batch jobs, running as ad-hoc processes.

I think code libraries are also very useful because they allow develops get better control of the process. They also enable developers build interactions to a website into their workflow or business processes.

These libraries can solve more than just extraction. The can offer full interaction with a site, just like an API would.

So there seems to be a lot of interest in Scraper Palace and as such I have put together a quick Mailchimp list to keep people updated.

If you are interested in updates about the service, please subscribe to the list. It is important that you specify your interest in the site as I will probably segment later on..

Many thanks for your interest and support in this project!

November 28, 2018 The beginning of something?

So I figured it's about time I create listing for this here..

Here is a quick recap so far..

So it started with this thread on Monday.. I figured there was enough interest to at least mock up a barebones MVP.

I spent about 4/5 hours tweaking a marketplace template I picked up from Themeforest for $24. Bought the domain for ~£1.35.

This morning I launched a basic version (dummy text) of the site here on IH.. Comments and feedback have been rolling in all day and it's been a huge surprise and I think it's really good validation on the concept.

Here is where I launched the product:

Later today I will post a result of day 0 with a screen grab of my Google Analytics -- I think it's looking good so far.

Thanks everybody

I would really like to give a huge shout out to IH user @EO. Othmane is the reason I have launched a bunch of test products in the last couple of weeks. I was so inspired by his posts about ship therapy. If it wasn't for him, Scraper Palace, Oyster Alerts and Chrono Weekly would all just be lines in a bulging OneNote ideas notebook.
