Planning Poker to estimate tasks with ease.
The idea to build a Planning Poker tool came from a problem I encountered in our company.
As an IT team working in a Scrum, we were supposed to estimate issues in story points before every sprint 🏁
We were using some broken, free tools that worked badly and looked terrible...
As a Junior that wanted to grow, and help my team, I decided to take on the challenge of building a better Planning Poker web app for us 🦸
It took me a few weeks. I've used the backend I knew, and VueJS, which I learned while building.
It wasn't easy as expected, I had to implement real-time communication to sync data across session users, etc.
However, after a few weeks of struggling, I finished it 🙋
Results were acceptable, the tool was working and people were happily estimating new issues with the scrumhub 1.0.
As a Junior, I felt fulfilled for some time with the result. Anyway...
Three years later, with a bigger knowledge, I decided to rewrite the app - here we are.
The new version features a modern UI, simplicity, and ease of use that the prior version lacked.
I'm planning to build additional features like JIRA integration and estimates export to CSV.
