Searchmonitor V2 is now live, All the users and data from the previous instances got migrated and I upgraded the underlying infra to a better VPS so that I can sleep peacefully and not worry about hitting the limits.

V2 brings with itself a paid plan, better UI, time-frame based data views and a ton of speed improvements.

We added one more client and grew our family to 26 now, the result is that now Searchmonitor is processing over 150,000 search requests a day. This is a 200% increase in the last 3 days alone. Fingers crossed.

Searchmonitor is now used by 25 shopkeepers and it is ingesting over 50,000 API requests every day. This is kinda scary and makes me wonder if the tech stack can handle it, considering that it is currently costing me $2 a month.

Stay tuned as there is a new release coming soon! It'll add a ton of new features to make the app more useful.

Searchmonitor got it's first review on the Shopify app store and it was a perfect 5/5!

Over the past few weeks we lost a few customers due to their shops being closed or their trial getting expired but we managed to regain traction and recoup all of them.

Searchmonitor is now a family of five! All organically with no word-of-mouth marketing.

At first, I was thinking to run Shopify Ads and use the $100 free credit I get, but this was dropped as the CPC ranged from about $9 - $40.

I am still looking as to how I can market this, I am cold-mailing certain shops and asking them to try it but with no luck.

Released the first version of Searchmonitor on the Shopify App Store for free.

It is built using NodeJS, PHP, Redis, and CockroachDB.

The reason for the stack was mainly because I wanted to create a lean app, but have it secure at the same time.

P.S. It is hosted on a simple VPS.

Created a Shopify store and was wondering how shopkeepers know what their customers search for, after some digging found out there was no direct way to know it. So I decided to just build one.
