SeeLink - Link Sharing and Collaboration Platform

Hello IndieHackers Community!

I'm proud to introduce a web-app I've been working on for the past few months, SeeLink.

SeeLink is a link sharing and collaboration platform that enables you to save and share links from all around the web.

What's SeeLink For?

SeeLink is one of the first link sharing and collaboration platforms. SeeLink enables its users to store, share, and save links from all around the web. You could use SeeLink to store links of your interest, and share them with friends, family, or teammates.

Why was SeeLink created?

SeeLink was created to simplify sharing links with friends and family. Conventionally, sharing links with people was done through messaging apps, where they would get lost in the sea of messages. SeeLink allows its users to create boards to share links with specific people, allowing them to save and share human-readable links at the click of a button.

There's still a lot that I'd like to improve in SeeLink, and if there's anything you'd like to see added to that list, please let me know! Also, I'm looking to get some user feedback before I launch to more people, so all feedback is welcome!

You can join SeeLink and try it out, at https://seelink.app.

Thanks.

cool! have you considered adding a webclipper like Pocket or Pinterest has, for quick add straight from a browser? could be a hassle if the only way to add links is to open the webapp on a new browser page and copy/paste over to it. just a thought.

how's the traction / feedback so far?

Thanks for taking a look! Yup, a Google Chrome extension is in the works! Wanted to get the main product out and see initial feedback before committing to the extension. Feedback so far has been quite encouraging, the only problem I've identified is the landing page isn't convincing people to convert. Working on that. Will release to HN, Reddit, and ProductHunt later this week. Let me know if you have any further suggestions

Cool, yeah as far as conversion goes, a few quick thoughts :

        • the video window is too big (it goes off the window on top and bottom) so I'd make it smaller
        • maybe I'd throw in a few screenshots so that people who just want to understand quickly how it works can scroll through and sign up.
        • CTA is only in 1 place (at the very top, before anyone has read anything else), best practice is to have a CTA wherever the visitor reaches peak interest and is most likely to want to sign up (the "wow i get it, it's super cool" moment). so i'd def add one at the bottom of the "What's in it for me" section
        • the CTA "get started", i'd mention something about it being free, or sign up to be a beta tester, something that gives more info.

Good luck with the launches later this week, looking forward to hearing about how that goes. i'm working on something link-related actually too, but specifically for team link management in slack.

Thanks a ton for the detailed feedback. Really appreciate you taking the time. If you don't mind, I'll be pushing the final version of the landing page to production in a few minutes (and it addresses most of these issues). It would be great to get some feedback on that. Good luck with your project, and let me know if you need any beta testers! I'd be happy to help out and test the service.

no worries, happy to help. i'll take a look again in a few hours and give you my thoughts. sounds good 👌 do you use slack and notion?

            1. 1

Thanks a ton! Unfortunately, I don't use Slack. I have a notion account though.

              1. 1

no worries, maybe you have some friends who do :)

sorry, didn't get to this until now! some comments on the new site, def getting better :

                • "What's In It for Me" : add a CTA button here
                • same section, the highlighted red words -> no consistency in terms of why they're highlighted (other than being the last word), for example "Your oyster"? why is that important
                • Features section : no need to add the highlight effect, makes me think its a button
                • FAQ there's a formatting issue, 3 blocks on left, 1 block on right
                • nice choice moving video to bottom
                1. 1

Also, I'd be happy to check your service out! Let me know if you want any feedback / comments!

                2. 1

Thanks a ton for the feedback! I've launched on PH now too, if you want to take a look: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/seelink.
