You're paying for things you forgot existed.

April 2, 2026 I created a subscription management app, abandoned it, and now I'm picking it up again.

Most people have no idea how much they spend on subscriptions every month. Not because they don't care, but because the charges are small, automatic, and scattered across different cards and dates.

That's why I built SeenMoney.

It lets you track all your subscriptions in one place, see your real monthly and annual totals, detect overlapping services you're paying for twice, and get a SeenScore that tells you how optimized your spending actually is. There's also a 5-year cost projection that genuinely surprises people when they see it.

I spent a month building the landing and demo. Launched on Product Hunt, got real users, got feedback. Then life happened and I let it go quiet for a while.

I'm bringing it back now. The demo is fully functional, no bank access required, no OAuth, just your email and your subscriptions.

If you try it I'd genuinely love feedback, especially on what's missing or what would make you actually pay for something like this.

Most people realize too late that their "small" monthly habits have quietly ballooned into a massive annual drain, but the friction of linking bank accounts and giving up financial privacy usually stops them from doing anything about it. It is a huge relief to have a tool that lets you visualize that five-year cost projection without the invasive step of connecting your credit card or sharing your OAuth credentials. Since you are focusing on manual entry and privacy-first tracking, how do you keep the "Aha!" moment alive for users who might find it tedious to manually update their data whenever a service changes its pricing or they sign up for a new trial?

Great that you mentioned it! That's precisely the dilemma "privacy vs convenience". To simplify things, the catalog already has editable prices, so adding something new only takes 10 seconds. Plus, we monitor price increases across the more than 80 platforms in our database and notify you, so all you have to do is press a button. Ultimately, I'd rather spend a minute a month on the app than give my bank details or email parsing to third parties just to "save" myself a few clicks. Thanks for your help!

The notification system for price hikes is a game changer because it turns a static tracker into an active assistant without compromising on that privacy first approach. Most users would gladly trade ten seconds of manual entry for the peace of mind that their bank data isn't being scraped by another third party.

It is interesting because I deal with similar trust factors in Digital PR and Media Placements where the goal is to build long term authority on sites like MSN or Bloomberg. Just like your SeenScore helps users see the true value of their spending we focus on showing clients the real impact of high tier placements beyond just a simple live link.

Keeping that catalog updated with 80+ platforms is definitely the right move to ensure the convenience factor stays high enough to beat the friction.

hey i like the idea, with my email id you find all the subscriptions right? is there any way we can connect multiple email accounts

Thanks a lot for the suggestion! I totally agree—automatic email scanning would make things much easier. I actually explored that early on, but due to strict privacy and security requirements (especially with email providers), it’s quite complex and resource-intensive to implement right now.

For the moment, subscriptions need to be added manually—but I’ve focused on making the experience as smooth and fast as possible.

I’d love for you to try the demo and share your thoughts 🙌
