SeenWant

Unified media tracker for movies, TV, books & games

February 27, 2026 I built a media tracker because I was tired of using 3 separate apps

I use Letterboxd for movies, Goodreads for books, Backloggd for games. Three separate apps to track what I watch, read, and play. Three accounts, three interfaces, three recommendation systems that don't talk to each other.

Felt dumb. So I built one app for everything.

SeenWant is a unified media tracker. Movies, TV shows, books, and games in one place. The interface uses swipes: right = want to watch/read/play, up = already seen/read/played.

What's built:

  • Full catalog across all 4 media types

  • Swipe-based discovery (Tinder-style)

  • Personal lists, comments, ratings

  • Trailer feed

  • 4 languages (ru, en, es, de)

  • Auth, 27 API routes, the works

Built the whole MVP solo. Next.js + TypeScript + Supabase.

The interesting part: I deployed it and forgot about it. Did zero marketing. No ads, no posts, no SEO. Checked analytics months later:

  • 243 unique visitors

  • Average session: 6 minutes

  • Pages per visit: 8

  • Bounce rate: 1%

  • 379 visits from search engines (with zero SEO effort)

People found it on their own. And those who found it actually used it. 6 minutes per session from complete strangers felt like a signal.

Revenue: $0. This is a free product for now. Still figuring out whether to monetize and how.

What media tracker do you use? Are you happy with it, or do you wish everything was in one place too?
