For years I tracked my money in a spreadsheet that broke every time I had to update a price by hand. Then I tried a few budgeting apps, and every one of them ignored investments completely. Budget in one place, portfolio in another, net worth nowhere.

So I built Selfinance: budgeting, investments, net worth, debt, and emergency funds, all in one dashboard, working across currencies.

The part I actually got excited about is the AI connector. Instead of opening the app to log an expense or check where I stand, I just tell Claude or ChatGPT to do it. "Log a $40 grocery expense" or "what's my net worth in EUR" and it just works.

The thing I spent the most time on wasn't the AI part, it was making sure it's safe. Selfinance doesn't connect to your bank or broker accounts at all, so there's nothing for the AI to touch there. Within the app itself, every trade, expense, or cash move goes through a preview and confirm step before anything actually changes.
