Semplates

We relaunched Semplates including all kinds of UI fixes we collected on our dev branch over the last month. We also completely reworked our landing page (build using Gatsby.js) to align with the functionalities and design we are providing today.

All in all the website relaunch took maybe like a week of work time with lot's of tweaks for SEO and a strong focus on the design side. The design is playful and looks friendly partially because we wanted to try out this style and also because Semplates makes designing and managing your AWS SES templates smooooth ;-)

While I almost forgot about Semplates I received my first payment by an UK based marketing agency that had been using Semplates for a month by then.

That customer is still with us today and he is very happy about our service. He said that it saves him 5 days of work every month since he is handling a lot of branded email communication for his clients.

This is where I decided to get my friend (and today's co-founder) Clemens on board and together we started to seriously rework Semplates and develop it towards some more sophisticated version 1.0.
We worked on the weekends and evenings for the next couple of month and mainly focussed on improving the user interface and adding new features such as the Tag Manager that makes organising all your Templates quite easy.

Initially, I build Semplates as an internal tool for the startup I am working in since we used AWS SES internally for transactional emails and one of my teammates (non-tech) repeatedly asked me to upload/update SES templates via the CLI. So I put a first internal version of Semplates together and my team vibe was revitalised :)

I then decided to create a first version of a landing page and put this thing out in the internet to see if anyone can make use of it!
