August 21, 2019 Two Subscriptions in a Day

Yeah, go ahead. Laugh. But it’s a first for me.

At this time last year, I’d never had anybody subscribe to anything I’d built. The first subscription was glorious; the first deposit, divine.

Two subscriptions in one day. That’s a signal. I’m doing something here. Maybe even something right.

I'm smiling, not laughing! :) Congrats!

    Congrats! That's huge!

Also, I absolutely love your landing page and copywriting, great job.

I'd suggest increasing your prices, though. $3/mo is a steal for freelance invoicing.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I appreciate the pricing advice. I'm slowly raising my pricing as I add features... I'll keep your advice in mind.

August 9, 2019 First annual subscription

Last week, I upped my prices a tiny bit and added an annual subscription option. I got my first annual subscription today. It happened sooner than I expected, so I'm pretty happy about it; but it probably means my prices are too low... which also makes me happy!

Here's to the next 999,999 annual subscriptions!

Alright... balloons dropped, champagne sipped. Back to work...

July 20, 2019 Major Upgrade

My last "launch" was very much an MVP. Maybe even less than "minimum". But it validated the product, as I collected a few dollars.

Over the last few months, I've been working on redesigning the UI and adding some badly-needed features. Today, I launched my next iteration of the MVP. There are still features (lot of features) to be added, and bugs to be squashed, but this version is a major upgrade to my first launch. I'm pretty excited to see where it goes.

January 8, 2019 I think this is working...

On this day, I signed up my 10th paying customer. Not friends-n-family. Random customers from out in the wild were willing to put their credit card information into my site to use my product.

The psychological tax of chasing invoices is real. It’s never just about sending the PDF; it’s the awkward follow-ups and the 'trust me, the check is in the mail' game that drains you.

A lot of freelance payment tools just act as a wrapper for Stripe, but they don't solve the core trust issue between parties. Are you guys leaning towards escrow-like features, or focusing more on streamlining the automated follow-ups to kill the awkwardness?

About

As a freelancer myself, I had a hard time finding an invoicing system that was affordable and easy to use. I didn't need a full-blown accounting infrastructure; I needed to blast out an invoice.
