January 4, 2024 Building out the MVP - in a new environment

I wanted to see if this could be done, so I started researching and understanding the current development platform for Microsoft Add-ins, specifically for Outlook, and the extent of the libraries. After countless attempts of getting the JavaScript to do what I want, I finally had it dialed in, a simple notification that pops up when multiple domain names where included in the recipients, along with the Send or Don't Send options for the user. It's technically possible. Ok, well, what if this Sendasta thing also lets the company admin control, track, or approve email that can or can't get sent to different organizations (let's say you sell something to Microsoft and Apple, do you ever want them on the same email?). Better yet, why not also allow for a 'no-email' at all list option, or a get manual approval control for companies. But before we dive into all these extra features, I wanted to first validate the concept, would businesses care to pay for my solution a few $'s to save them lost customers and legal liabilities ;)

November 7, 2023 Birth of an Idea - from a painful mistake

On a busy Tuesday morning, I was firing off emails to multiple clients and their teams, when I got email reply I was not expecting. In my haste, I had accidently sent an email to the 'wrong' John Smith. I was adding him to an existing email thread, and didn't notice the different domain name for this email address as I tabbed the first suggestion auto-complete on MS Outlook had shown me. Luckily, no confidential data was involved, but I did look like an idiot for both companies. In my frustration, I'd thought why isn't there any existing setting in Outlook to notify or flag this email before I send it out. Surely, there must be thousands of emails a day who go the wrong recipient due to auto-correct. Here is where the idea for Sendasta, a lightweight Outlook add-in, that can catch this mistake for businesses and enterprise users.

About

I've sent a work email to the wrong recipient, and have been on the receiving end of them, mostly due to an auto-complete mistake. Sendasta makes sure that your not mixing domain names for your recipients before send.
