Actually read all the good stuff you dig in the web

January 30, 2023 First prototype ready

At the end of the last year, I finally found time to sit down and code a prototype of sendmyreads.com. It has just the bare minimum I needed to test the idea. I've been using it for nearly seven weeks since then, and I'm happy with the result. Of course, I have the incentive to use the product since I created it myself, but I'll look for other getpocket.com users to see if they'd like to use it as well while I keep an eye on my habits with the product.
On the tech side, I've enhanced my default Next.js + Firebase stack with Radix UI, and Stitches, primarily out of curiosity. I enjoyed using stitches for the styling, and I have only used a few Radix UI components so far, but for the few I've used, their APIs and default styles seem compelling.
If you know someone that uses getpocket.com and would appreciate receiving their articles in an email so they can read more, let them know about sendmyreads.com! I'm looking for alpha tester.

October 5, 2022 From idea to code

I have used GetPocket.com as my bookmark tool since the early 2010s. I have thousands of articles saved covering the most diverse subjects, and each one is fascinating to me. Yet, I've always struggled to read them. Millions of words, all scavenged from the web, especially curated by the person who knows me better than anyone, all sitting there, their potential unattained.
I want to develop a habit of actually reading the articles I bookmark every day. To do that, I decided to remove a couple of barriers so that addering to the practice would be easier. So I created SendMyReads to help me resolve this.
SendMyReads helps me create the habit of reading the stuff I dig on the internet by selecting and pushing the articles to me. Not having to choose what to read helps reduce the mental cost of deciding, as does receive instead of going after it.

Every day I bookmark interesting articles using Pocket, but I never get the time to read them. SendMyReads makes it easier to create a habit of reading the articles I bookmark.
