Project and asset management for creative teams
The past six months have been a period of learning, quick iteration, and feature validation. We have been lucky enough to sit with individual testers, small teams, and agencies all over to get an in-depth understanding of their processes.
Today, I'm happy to share with everyone the results of all our work since our most recent launch.
- Tasks and Project management
"Boards" was just the beginning, and we are doubling down our investment on project management as a core feature in our offering.
We pride our selves from our lean & mean process for software development, and wanted to port this philosophy into a feature to enable everyone to shape their projects as they see fit.
Each project contains tasks, and a unique aspect for each is the referencing mechanic. So, when you attach a file to a task, you are referencing it directly from the file storage section.
- Assets management and Design transparency
When we started working on self-updating asset views, we noticed testers began to share links for asset downloads.
This behavior directly inspired our decision to make Sensive a lightweight DAM (Digital Asset Management) platform to help our user to store, manage, and share their assets with everyone.
- Annotations as a collaboration tool
One of the most humbling learnings over the past few months was around our collaboration features. We started to notice an influx of requests to improve our commenting functionality, which led us to reconsider our approach to collaboration at the individual asset level.
Comments now allow for @mentions, visual annotations, and just around the corner: Threads. This feature is a great way to bring attention and guide the conversation around a topic.
We also finally launched paid accounts, and similar to our features, we decided to make it simple and surprise-free. $20 a month gets you unlimited everything, including unlimited collaborators. We really dislike per-seat pricing.

Extending the ways to organize resources within our platform has been one of the main themes of 19-H2 for our team.
So we started November by introducing Boards. A new feature to allow our users to manage tasks, and connect design resources to their workflows.
And this week, we are releasing a new version of Collections. This feature was initially a quick way to share specific design views, but over time thanks to feedback and our observations, we started to identify more refined use cases.
Collections can now include sections that are easy to rearrange and able to display the resources they contain as a grid or a table.

We introduced Sensive Sync as a Sketch plugin to enable designers track design documents and automatically build up a visual history of their work in progress.
The community rewarded us by getting our plugin to the top #3 products on that day.

Sensive started as an experiment to bring transparency to our design workflows.
We started by integrating via Figma’s recently launched API and created a proof of concept that allowed anyone to share their work in progress without the hassle of exporting anything.
