Serge

After our dismal launch, we decided to share the directory for free.

We don't know if Serge can generate any revenue in the future, but we do know that it is a super useful tool for bootstrappers and anyone with a side-project.

We've filtered out SO many poor illustrators and everything that is left represents incredible value for anyone who wants their product to stand out with custom illustrations.

Wow. I'm going to be honest...we got everything wrong and we bombed. We had spent so long working on Serge that we got impatient to launch, and we made every rookie error in the book.

First, we got our price point wrong ($1/month...totally weird signal), then we got our submission timings wrong (10.30am GMT...what!?).

Predictably, we got lost in 'newest' and didn't receive a single upvote. Not one.

With such a tiny price point and no advertising budget, we were betting the house on the PH launch, and we lost.

Anyway, it forced us to take a cold hard look at the product and re-evaluate.

We were hoping to reach makers who have several side-projects on the go at any one time and would be using the directory monthly. But in reality, no one has time to do this.

We STILL believe that Serge is a super useful resource for bootstrappers, and the main thing that motivates us is genuinely helping people out. So we've relaunched as a free product, and hoping to recoup some of the costs via donations when the benefits of our curation kick in for people.
