We rebranded and this isn't a side project anymore

After years of working on our consulting agency, @danpastori and I finally reached an epiphany: People have been paying us for our knowledge since 2011, but it's only on a "one-to-one" basis.

What we mean by "one-to-one" is that a customer hires us, we solve their problem, and we move on.

There are many downfalls of this:

  • We are literally trading hours for dollars
  • When we solve a complex problem, the only person we help is the customer
  • Helping a small group of people is generally not as meaningful

@danpastori have a much bigger vision than just helping a few customers. We're self-taught developers that bootstrapped our own consulting business. It's time for us to help others get access to quality technical resources so they can become self-educated too.

We want to covert our problem solving to "one-to-many". We can work on solving one problem really well, that solves it for many people. We believe we can have a lot more fun doing this as we grow a community and meet other developers.

It was time to get real. @danpastori and I took a step back, read through Don Miller's "Building a Storybrand" book and we started from the top.

Developers learn best when they have quality resources and a community to learn from. We're building our entire brand around this need.

We launched a new logo and website to state our position. Server Side Up is no longer a side project for us! It's the ship that will hopefully get us to our dreams of starting a school someday!
