Seven Day SaaS
SaaS MVP Building Challenge + Community
I decided to build a really simple, minimal website + slack to start getting some attention for the challenge, and to post my idea on HackerNews, Twitter, Indie Hackers, and Reddit to see if the idea would get any traction.
To my delight, it did. I started posting my website everywhere at around 8:10am in the morning, and over the course of the day received some encouraging responses. Unfortunately, my initial posts in Hacker News and Indie Hackers didn't really generate any traffic, but Reddit and Twitter were useful.
👤 I got about 370 unique pageviews total.
📧 35 people signed up for the mailing list.
💬 15 people joined the Slack community.
I was hoping for more engagement, but this is enough for me to be excited and move forward! I'll start writing some posts about this and reaching out to other community founders now. We'll see how things go over the next couple of weeks leading up to the start date on March 20th!
I was sitting around planning for the game development jam (specifically, 7DRL) that I've participated in the last six years, but something just felt... wrong.
I recently got married and since then my priorities have shifted towards building something that will allow me to work from home.
I decided to skip the 7DRL and instead focus on building something that would help me reach financial freedom. After that, the idea of doing a programming jam for building my MVP SaaS was a natural development, and I decided to start working on it right away.

I wasn't able to find a quality coding jam / hackathon for building a SaaS MVP, so I decided to start one!
