May 27, 2020 1 year and 2,200 users

Since I decided that the official launch was on May 28, 2019, I can now celebrate the first year of existence of Sheet.chat!

I now have 2,200 users, with few of them on the Pro plan (not too bad knowing I launched the paid plan only on November).

I want to thank all of them. They makes Sheet.chat alive!

November 3, 2019 Do I have a MVP?

Have I reached the MVP phase for Sheet.chat?

“The minimum viable product (MVP) is that product which has just those features (and no more) that allows you to ship a product that resonates with early adopters; some of whom will pay you money or give you feedback.”

Core features are done, it is now possible to subscribe to a paid plan.

I guess it's time for me to find out if I can find paying users.

If your core value is delivering...monetize!!
Then add features requested by paying customers...

You're absolutely right! Wow, thanks Alex, I just realized.

I chose this use case a long time ago. It is time I put more emphasis on more serious use cases, such as project management or inventory listing.

June 4, 2019 Slack Developers event in Paris

I met Slack Platform Team in Paris during an event. It was very nice, but most of all I had a lot of little ideas to improve the user experience in Sheet.chat's Slack. This means some pretty heavy changes in the software, but I think it will be much more pleasant to use after!

April 30, 2019 Listing on BetaList

After a few months, Sheet.chat is finally launched on BetaList and the first users register.

I have noticed all the little problems. Onboarding is not easy. Why use Slack's webhooks when a dropdown list with channels would be easier? etc.

The next few months will be dedicated to improvement based on user feedback.

Congrats! sheet.chat looks very useful for team using spreadsheets.
Do you have any suggestions for launching on BetaList? I am looking into submitting my project there

      Thanks Mariano!

I'd suggest to post there are early as possible since the free listing takes a month. I didn't get so many users from BetaList, but I get very valuable feedback.

By the way, this could use a synergy with other database-making products or just internal database tools.

I, for example, don't keep much personal databases, but I know that it's not a difficult thing to start with by using something like IFTTT to gather useful data into tables. Maybe some tips on how to start (usefully) employing these?

You're absolutely right! One if the user of Sheet.chat also uses glideapps.com, and I believe it makes total sense. The ecosystem around Google Sheets seems huge.

    Looks great!

February 9, 2019 Beta is online

W00t, the website sheet.chat is online! There is really the bare minimum, but the basic features are already there: search from Slack, change notifications, and insertion from Slack.

The objective is very simple for now: to start using the service for myself in my company.

November 23, 2018 From the idea to the first line of code

I work full time as a Product Manager in a startup. And I came to the conclusion that we use a lot Google Sheet. We have so many things in spreadsheets: project todos, list of customers or employees, our favorite restaurant near the office... And, we also use Slack a lot. Could we bring the two together so that it is just more convenient? After having a look at the API of the two services, I took the decision that this will become my next side-project.

About

I am a PM in a startup and I realized that we work a lot with spreadsheets and Slack. I created Sheet.chat to bring these two services together and get quickly in a channel important information of a spreadsheet.
