Shellphone

While nomading in Indonesia, I've had to install so many fancy-looking chat apps just to keep in touch with people I used to chat with over phone calls and texts in France. Services would send reminders and verification codes that I wouldn't see before swapping my French SIM card back into my phone.

I've had the same French phone number for over a decade and it's tied to so many services and contacts that it would be problematic at best. To easily access it from wherever I would be, I figured I needed to port my phone number to one of those cloud phone services. I quickly became frustrated over the lack of decent consumer-oriented cloud phone solutions.

Asking around in the Nomad List slack, I've found this problem to be a recurring one among the nomads community. This is when I said to myself: "I should make this."
