
Sherpa
A job scaler for HashiCorp Nomad.
This week v0.1.0 of Sherpa was released and marked a good step on improving the offering. The release included adding scaling event state tracking so operators and view recent history of events. In addition to the usual CLI and API methods of viewing this new information, a small UI was also added.
Since it was released 4 months ago on GitHub, Sherpa has gained a number of stars and has been evaluated by a number of companies. Today the GitHub project reached its 100th star as it moves towards 1 v0.1.0 release. This also relates to 8k DockerHub pulls.

v0.0.2 of Sherpa has now been released with a number of bug fixes, as well as enhancements to the policy engine. The team at Zumper (https://www.zumper.com/) helped identify and fix a number of bugs through internal testing. The policy engine has been enhanced to allow setting scaling threshold percentages within a policy document.

About
HashiCorp Nomad does not have a built-in way to scale running jobs based on consumed resources. Sherpa therefore fills this gap; offering a number of run modes to support a wide range of architectures and budgets.
