Shoffi
Shopify Apps Affiliate Platform
Aiming to a more high-end app, I figured we should address their unique pain points. From my research, I understood that sending their users to Shoffi looks a bit "Cheap" for them (no offense taken).
To overcome that, we built an API that gives all the capabilities of Shoffi but can be used directly from the client's app or website.
This way, we can also offer them to create an advanced dashboard, add goals and incentivize user-based performance, and whatever they will be creative enough to do without us needing to build new features.
Let's see how it goes :)
Influenced by all the million "2022 Recaps" I got from all the products I'm using, I just felt the pressure that if I won't make one to Shoffi, it's not a real SaaS lol.
It was also fun for me to see what happens, and set publicly the product map to create more accountability.

In the last 2 months, we added many more affiliates to Shoffi, but only around 10 apps.
This is way slower than the Growth we expected.
What concerns me mostly is that there is not a specific issue or feature missing, but it looks like all those interested joined, and there are not many new ones.
We will focus next month on investigating what we can do to maximize the revenue generation of the platform; we do have some ideas.

The entire product is live and already helping our customers.
The initial traction was mostly thanks to users waiting for this product.
Now, we'll need to start working on "convincing" potential users that Shoffi can help them grow their Shopify app and educate them about the power of partnerships.
This is, from my experience, the harder part, the day-to-day routine, without all the excitement of the beta and launch.
Of course, we'll keep improving the product, but the main focus will be marketing, and it's a long-term game.
Let's go 🚀

Beta users still have another week to use the Beta for free but some users have already subscribed to the paid plans.
Now preparing for the "Big" moment next week where all the Beta users will have to subscribe in order to keep using the platform.
Doing the best to keep them rolling with us 🤝

We offer a discounted price for all of our existing users, but new ones are already required to pat the full price for the plans.
Yesterday we got the first 2 new clients using the mid-tier plan ($89/m) for the full price. That feels great as we were really worried we are overpricing the service, but seem like users find it fair as we hoped.

Getting ready for the launch 🤗
No more discounted one-time fees for joining Shoffi.
We added monthly plans with 3 different tiers, where the biggest metric is how much the app owner earns with the help of Shoffi.
By the launch day(July 18th), all existing users will have to pick a plan. We are doing our best to make sure they get the most of Shoffi so the churn won't be painful 😬

The more time we spend learning about our users, the more we understand that things are not always the way we predicted.
The most significant difference we see is the behavior of affiliates invited by apps and those who just asked to connect with apps they discovered on the platform. The first ones are much more active and more successful in promoting the apps.
We are not going to limit any functionality in Shoffi. But, we will change our branding, marketing, and UX, to make sure apps will be the ones actively inviting affiliates and not just waiting for them to join.
Otherwise, they will get frustrated by the affiliate's performance and churn.

We keep irritating based on our users need. These time we had to do major changes to our schemas in order to offer 2 new functionalities:
- CPI (Cost Per Install) 💰
- Commission Period Limit 🚫
These will give more flexibility for apps to set their terms for affiliates, and will also make the platform useful for apps who are still free to use, by paying for installs.

One of our biggest challenges as of now is the affiliate's engagement.
They sign up to the platform but usually promote just the one app they joined for.
We started to feature apps on our website/newsletter/social in order to create more hype and engagement around them.
We'll see how it goes.
Here is how it looks:
