Shortsly

The idea for Shortsly came from working on marketing for my previous project. Producing short videos took a considerable amount of time, so I started researching tools that could automate part of the process.

The AI tools I tested helped create an initial video, but making changes afterward was often difficult. I needed control over individual scenes, images, captions, and timing not just an exported MP4.

That distinction mattered in practice. A video could be almost ready, with only one image or a few seconds of pacing that needed adjusting. Regenerating the entire result or moving it into a separate editor added work that automation was supposed to reduce.

I found plenty of video generators, but I couldn’t find the combination of generation and editing that suited my workflow. That became the starting point for Shortsly.

Shortsly generates an editable project, keeping visuals, text, and audio on a timeline. Users can review the result and make specific changes before exporting, without starting over.

The product is now live, and I’m gathering feedback on that workflow. For those creating videos to market their products: where do you spend more time - putting the first version together or getting it ready to publish?
