SHUSH
Room-aware sleep app, built differently
After two decades in professional audio, I realized sleep apps are engineered all wrong.
They ignore what's already in your room — HVAC, traffic, fans — and blast full broadband noise on top of it. That's fighting the room, not working with it.
Shush does the opposite. It reads what's already there and only generates what's missing. Full spectrum sound at a much lower volume.
Real-time synthesis — every moment mathematically unique. No loops, no patterns your brain can latch onto.
A 2026 Penn Medicine study found continuous broadband noise reduces REM sleep by 19 minutes per night. Shush's smart timer builds around that: low-level sound to fall asleep, gentle fade, then silence so your brain can rest.
Device-aware optimization.
Precision notch filtering for tinnitus (based on clinical research).
Guided breathing.
500+ downloads, 20% Day-7 retention, $0 spent on marketing. Real users, returning.
Shush Signature Sounds, monthly additions — purpose-engineered profiles using the same room-aware principles.
What's next:

Content creates revenue. Revenue creates impact.
Here's what matters: 20% of every Listening Post sale goes to the nonprofits we film with. We're building a sleep app that gives back.

About
After 20 years in audio every sleep app frustrated me — they fight the room instead of working with it. Shush is room-aware: Full spectrum sound at significantly lower volume.
