It’s been an incredible journey building SideProjector, and I’m thrilled to share some major updates that will take the platform to the next level. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been hard at work incorporating new features that not only enhance usability but also strengthen the community aspect of SideProjector. Here’s a rundown of what’s new:
🌐 P2P Chat: Connect with Indie Hackers Instantly
One of the challenges indie hackers face is finding the right people to collaborate with. Our new Peer-to-Peer Chat feature allows you to connect directly with other creators, discuss ideas, and even find potential collaborators for your projects.

💬 Shout Box: Join the Conversation
We’re introducing a Shout Box, a public chatroom where everyone can share thoughts, ask questions, or showcase updates. Think of it as a live pulse of the community — where conversations flow and ideas come alive!

📽️ Demoed Project Previews: Show, Don’t Just Tell
Bringing your side project to life just got easier! With Demoed Project Previews, you can now showcase interactive demos of your projects directly on your SideProjector profile.

🎮 Discord OAuth: Seamless Community Integration
We know many indie hackers already have active Discord communities. With our new Discord OAuth integration, you can now connect your Discord server with SideProjector to streamline discussions and collaborations.
Authenticate and link your Discord account.
Automatically join SideProjector-related Discord groups.
Sync updates and announcements across platforms.

Building a side project has always been an exciting challenge for me. SideProjector was born out of the frustration of not having a platform where indie hackers can easily showcase, sell, and scale their side projects. I wanted to create a space where creators can track their progress, learn from each other, and succeed together.
While SideProjector is still in the early stages, I’m working hard to make it the go-to platform for indie hackers. Here’s where we stand so far:
The Idea: I realized that many side projectors struggle with visibility and exposure. There's a need for a dedicated platform where they can showcase their projects, track revenue, visitors, and gain feedback from a supportive community of developers and makers.
The Build: I’ve been developing SideProjector using NextJ, MongoDB, WebSocket, NodeJs and focusing on a simple, clean interface. While the core features are up and running, there’s still a lot of work to be done to improve performance, add features, and refine the user experience.
Getting Feedback: So far, the feedback I’ve received has been invaluable. I’m in the process of connecting with more developers and makers to get their thoughts and help shape the direction of the platform. SideProjector is still in its early phase, and I’m open to collaboration, feedback, and suggestions.
The Next Steps: The goal is to build a community of indie hackers and developers who can share their experiences and help each other succeed. I plan to bring more features to the platform, including improved project analytics, better integration tools, and new ways to monetize and gain visibility for your projects.
Call for Developers: I’m actively looking for developers to join me in building this platform. If you’re passionate about helping indie makers and side project creators, or if you’re just curious to explore the potential of SideProjector, I’d love to connect with you. Let's collaborate and make this platform something truly valuable for the indie hacker community.
