Check if an email address really exists.
Just added the option to import email lists besides CSV import from some popular services like Google Spreadsheets, Salesforce, Mailchimp & Campaign Monitor.
It was a good way to experiment working with Salesforce & Google Sheets API which were new to me.
Yesterday I integrated social login/signup with Google Signin and noticed an increase in user signups, 50% of new accounts using the social signup featured, yet too early to say if it's not a coincidence.
5 users joined so far, except my friends. 3 are actually using the service from the web interface, validating lists of emails.
One got out of free credits and created an account with a different email to get some more free credits.
I created a referral program so if they invite a friend will get some more free credits as a bonus, if the friend joins, of course.
Started a Google Ads campaign, not happy with the results so far but it’s my first time doing it so I might be doing something wrong. We’ll see, learn by doing.

One week later, I have an MVP, so I spin up a DigitalOcean droplet and launch to start getting feedback.
It went pretty quick, but most of the time was spent working on the email validation logic. I built this on Laravel and being a side project I took the opportunity to get more comfortable with this framework but also experiment with IndexedDB.
I didn’t want to burn too many hours on website part so I went with a free html template from Colorlib customized to fit my needs.

While working on an email marketing product for a client we got our Amazon SES account suspended for a few hours due to high bounce rate. Although we were handling bounces and complaints correctly, it was impossible to say if a recipient list is healthy or not before actually sending to it.
After some research I decided to go ahead and build an API that will solve this issue.

Needed an email address verification API for a client project with a decent cost and with a clear privacy statement.
