Sigilla

Stop hoarding links. Start curating knowledge.

February 12, 2026 My "Read Later" list was just a graveyard where articles went to die. So I built something to fix it.

For years, I have used Pocket and Instapaper. I save 10 articles a day, feeling productive. But I never actually read them. My queue just grows until it becomes a source of anxiety instead of knowledge.

I realized that the existing apps are designed to make saving easy, but they don't care if you actually read.

So I spent the last few weekends building Sigilla.

It is a privacy-first reading inbox with a very simple philosophy: Read it or delete it.

There is no "archive" to hide things in. The app uses a simple spaced repetition algorithm to nudge you about unread items. If you keep ignoring an article, maybe you shouldn't have saved it?

It also has a direct Markdown export because I use Obsidian for my notes, and I wanted a way to get highlights out of the browser and into my local files.

It is still very much a beta (and free), but it has finally helped me reach "Inbox Zero" on my reading list.

I would love to hear how you guys manage your reading backlogs. Is this approach too strict, or is it exactly what we need?
