January 13, 2022 Soft launch on IndieHackers, Twitter and Facebook

Started to get feedback on the initial MVP and landing page design. Useful to hear from others how they react to it.

Next stop, doubling down and implementing any feedback ahead of a Hacker News post.

Fingers crossed, this is the furthest I've ever got with a project like this!

Looks cool. is it an AWS only thing? I am using NodeChef ... not sure I would do this easily.

Hey there, no it supports several different back ends (see here: https://docs.signalbot.io/docs/backends/aws-cloudwatch).

Unfortunately it doesn't look like NodeChef allows for external services to check their metrics. If they did we could create an integration straight away.

Thanks for your response, either way :)

        Thank you.
Right now I have created a simple API call that a service calls every 5-minutes.
It checks the database, and server status.
Reports to me if an error is returned or no response.
Only one incident in months...it worked.

About

I wanted to be able to configure my observability tooling in code alongside my app so they stay in sync. There's nothing that allows you to do that easily, so I built SignalBot to scratch my own itch :)
