Hi IndieHackers,

I'm new here and thought I'd share a personal journey that led to the creation of SilkFlo. It's a story of learning, evolving, and ultimately, solving a problem that I kept running into time and again.

My career began in finance, a field where 'efficiency' is a necessity - but not always a reality. I started automating my own tasks using scripts I learned online, a small step that eventually steered me into the world of consulting at Deloitte.

There, I was introduced to the broader landscape of automation and AI technologies, working on significant projects with well-known brands. I learned how to use tools like RPA, low-code, IDP, chatbots, process mining, ML, and others. This experience was eye-opening, to say the least.

After Deloitte, I founded my own consultancy, Robofy, where for seven years, I helped numerous clients discover, build, and scale their automation and AI investments.

Despite the successes and high ROI we achieved, I noticed a recurring theme: before my involvement, these clients faced persistent issues—poor governance (in how they implemented automation technologies), a lack of visibility (into what to automate or the tools in use across their businesses), and challenges in fostering a culture that embraced these changes.

These problems are also very much present in the rapidly growing landscape of generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). As these technologies become more integrated into business processes, the same issues of governance, visibility, and cultural integration resurface, often more complex than before.

Each project was a lesson that added to my expertise, and it was during this time that SilkFlo began to take shape in my mind. I asked myself, "What if there was a solution that addressed these core issues head-on?" SilkFlo is the answer to that question.

SilkFlo is an AI Governance platform designed to help companies adopt, manage, and track their automation and AI investments effectively. It's a culmination of years of learning from my experiences and those of my clients. SilkFlo aims to provide clear governance, increase visibility, and support a positive cultural shift towards automation and AI in businesses.

I believe that true innovation comes from understanding and solving real-world problems. SilkFlo is my humble attempt to do just that.
