Quit my full-time job

My product is growing. But growing slowly. Over the past 2 years, I collected a bunch of ideas for improving the product. However, it's very difficult to work on a side project while having a full-time job. I decided to leave my full-time job so I can dedicate more time to the development and growth of Simple OKR.

you'll make more money having two jobs and less stress.

True, but you don't leave your cushy job for a small business with the goal to earn more money. I've built my product for the past two years while working full-time. I'm very much aware of what's possible on your side project while having a full-time job. If you want to get to the next level, I think you have to make certain sacrifices. And you can always go find another job if things don't work out.

    Best of luck !

I know what you mean, the amount of time I'm putting into https://trackmylift.app is insane and especially on a Sunday. Having work the next day is a drag .

Congrats and best of luck! 2 years ago I tried to go from full time job to 4 days a week for some time. It was a great way to dedicate more time to my side projects without sacrificing too much of my revenues.

Once I understood my main project was going to remain a side project but was now almost fully automated, I switched back to full time job.

Good move. Decision made. Now never look back! You are on the right track. If you ever want to be financially free, you have to have your own business that makes you money when you are not working.

Congrats and best of luck to you! If you dedicate to Simple OKR the same hours that you dedicated to your full-time job, there's no way it's not going to grow, the SMB market is huge! I'm in a similar position, considering quitting...

I did the same at the beginning of the year. Good luck, mate! And congrats!

Congrats on the big step. Also, I wish I had your product at my last startup. We started using BetterWorks in 2015 and ended up cancelling a year or two later, but it was way too expensive and not even very good at the time.

Wishing all the best Tadas. I took the leap two years ago, had to return to full time job, but still hustling whenever I can. Sometimes it is really hard and wish i could be full time working on my project. Good luck !

Good luck! Congrats on the steps forward. What are your next milestones?

There's always a never-ending backlog of tech debt and UX improvements. As for the milestones, there are a couple of big ones I have in mind:

      • Focusing on review functionality. This will be a completely new feature that will be introduced to the product.
      • I also want to implement SSO so I can more easily onboard larger businesses that want to bring their own identity provider.

A lot of work and fun ahead! Let me know if I can help. I'm excited to hear how things go.

Wow! Congratulations and good luck! It's a big step, but I believe it's the best step one could take.

Congrats, it's a scary step and I'm wishing you all the best.

Good luck with that! I did that in 2006 and had a blast. Working for a big corp now, but the product building itch is getting stronger by the minute ...
