Investor passes are polite, but rarely useful

“Not a fit for our thesis” sounds professional, but it gives the founder almost nothing to work with. Was the market too small? Was the traction story weak? Was the round the wrong shape? Was one missing slide doing all the damage?

That gap is why I built SimVC. It is a rehearsal layer for pitch decks: upload a deck, run it through a simulated investor cohort, and get the likely objections, pass reasons, diligence questions, and slide-level weak spots before a real meeting is spent discovering them.

The important boundary: SimVC does not predict whether you will raise. It does not output a fake funding probability or pretend to be a named investor. The point is preparation, not prophecy.

I’m testing the free deck-check flow here: https://simvc.app/deck-check

Curious from other founders: before sending a deck, what would be more useful — the harsh reason an investor might pass, or the diligence questions they would ask if they kept reading?
