Web Push Notifications Service

January 1, 2021 Why? Build once, sell twice

Back in 2020, we just needed a simple Push Notification Service for a game we were developing. When I say we, I'm talking about my brother and I, two indie developers that love making beautiful mobile games. And when I say a game, I'm talking about 1sland, a Battle Royale that recently reached 650k+ downloads on the App Store.

We needed something simple, not bloated with useless features. It also had to be affordable, and of course, nice. Even though Push Notifications is not something new, and there are other established players, we just didn't like what we saw... So we made our own, tailored to our needs, and much simpler.

After building it, I just thought we could just release a public version of it, starting with simple web push notifications service, and adding mobile support later on. That's how SingleWave was born.

February 1, 2020 MVP is ready

After around three weeks of non-stop work, the MVP of Singlewave.io is (almost) ready.

I decided to make it super simple for the first (soft) release; after all, it's always better to release a stripped down version than ending not releasing anything at all

That's why the first SingleWave product is focused on Web Push Notifications. Mobile will come later this year!

About

I needed a Web Push Notification Service to use on a game my brother and I were developing, 1sland. The game didn't need any of the features offered by common platforms already in the market. We wanted something simpler.
