June 12, 2020 Soft launching SlapTask

This is my second attempt at starting an indie hacker business. I'm calling it a "soft launch" because this will have been the first I've spoken about it in public.

In my first project, I was more excited about building the app than talking to potential customers. When I finally did do cold outreach, I found that my prospects weren't interested in what I had to offer.

I tried to mitigate that risk in a few different ways this time.

First, SlapTask is a productized service business, so I don't have anything to build (aside from the landing page) until I get paying customers.

Second, I know that my offer provides tangible value to people. I've used low-code tools and scripting to automate workflows for a few folks in my life, and they tend to rave about how great the automations are. I figure that there's likely many more people out there who would benefit from automating parts of their jobs.

Stay tuned!

About

A few months back, I scripted away part of my wife's job and she hasn't stopped raving about it since. I want to provide that same life-changing robot magic to anyone out there who would benefit from automation.
