Slickyblocks
AI Website to get traffic, not just exist
Hey I’m Sam. I’ve been a dev since 2002, and I fell into the classic "Engineer’s Trap." Instead of launching a messy MVP, I spent 5 years building SlickyBlocks to be enterprise-ready from Day 1.
The Tech Stack: C#, .NET 9, SQL Server, and a custom micro service architecture designed to scale to 100k users. No generic plugins. No false promises.
The Current State:
Users: 40 paying customers (mostly from my consulting days).
Burn: about $4,000/month (Team, High-end hosting, and Facebook ads that just spiked 36% in CPL).
The Goal: 500 users to break even and prove the $12M growth roadmap I’ve built.
Why I’m stuck: I refused to "fake it until I made it." I built features like AI-onboarding, automated SEO indexing, and full e-commerce before I ever ran my first ad. Now that the product is "too easy it should be illegal," I’m realizing that the marketing world is a saturated mess of "gurus" and spam.
The Pivot: I’m moving away from Facebook's rising costs and moving toward SlickyScore—a tool I built to give away free, high-value site audits as a lead magnet.
I need your help with two things:
Marketing: If you were burning $4k/month with a finished, high-end product, where would you go for those next 460 users?
Tech/Product: Does the "Enterprise-first" approach still work in 2026, or did I over-engineer my own grave?
I’m an open book on the tech or the numbers. Happy to share how we handle the SQL scaling or the AI integration logic if anyone is interested
About
As a software engineer since 2002, I have designed and built hundreds of website and many features were very repetitive. So, in 2020, I came up with the idea of building a website builder targeting smaller customers
