SmartRolePath
AI-powered career roadmaps that show you exactly what to do
Here's a founder story draft you can use and edit as your own voice, first person, for the Indie Hackers post or your About page:
I'm a solo IT consultant based in California. No cofounder, no funding, just me building software after hours and between client work.
It started because I kept seeing the same thing: people stuck. Someone laid off with no idea what comes next. Someone in a trade wondering if there's a better path they haven't found yet. Someone staring at a job market that changed while they weren't looking. Everyone I talked to was navigating it alone, piecing together advice from scattered sources, hoping they were making the right call on something that actually matters.
So I built SmartRolePath. Then TrainingForFuture for people in the skilled trades, because that world gets overlooked by most career tools. Then ProofSiteNow, a different problem entirely: helping small businesses get found now that search itself is changing.
Running three products alone means every week is a mix of building, fixing, and learning things I didn't know I needed to know. This month alone I chased down an indexing bug that took real digging to find, migrated a database schema twice after hitting a MySQL limit I'd never run into before, and expanded into six countries not fully knowing what that would break.
None of it is polished. A lot of it is just me, a terminal, and a lot of trial and error. But the plan behind it stays simple: build tools that give people something real to hold onto when they're facing a decision that matters.
That's the whole reason any of this exists.
About
Because career decisions are some of the highest stakes, least supported decisions people make. Most people facing a layoff or a stuck career figure it out alone. SmartRolePath fills that gap.
