Smousss
An AI-powered assistant for Laravel developers.
As an aspiring entrepreneur myself, I painfully understand how challenging building a profitable side project can be.
When trying to leave the world of traditional employment or freelancing, we simply can't afford to experiment with the latest shiny framework or programming language.
Instead, we should focus on leveraging the mature ones to meet our goals.
We're constantly juggling limited resources, time constraints, and market uncertainties.
To make it even more difficult, we're bombarded with a never-ending stream of new and trendy technologies that claim to be the "next big thing" or whatever.
It's easy to get lost in the noise. But we must stay focused on what matters most.
It might be tempting to spend hours crafting the "perfect" code using the latest and greatest framework or programming language, but let's remember that it's not our code that brings in revenue β it's our customers.
Our primary goal should be to create a valuable MVP that meets the needs of our target audience.
Using mature technologies offers several advantages like:
- Proven track record: they have a history of success, which means they're more likely to be reliable and stable.
- Extensive documentation: with a mature ecosystem comes a wealth of documentation and resources, making it easier for us to troubleshoot problems and learn from others' experiences.
- Community support: a large user base means a greater pool of knowledge and support, making it easier to find answers to our questions or seek advice when needed.
It's crucial to shift our focus to marketing as soon as possible once our MVP is done.
After all, a product is useless if no one knows about it! By investing our time and resources into marketing efforts, we can reach potential customers, build brand awareness, and ultimately generate revenue.
About

@benjamincrozat Very well put. The pursuit of mature technologies to build MVPs led me to learn Go (lang) even tough I was already quite experienced with Node.js/Javascript.
Thank you, really appreciated. π
In my case, I stuck with what I knew.
