December 19, 2020 End of Holiday Season

The holiday season is over. We had $633.84 from 39 orders. It cost $471.36 to send the cards from both the orders as well as we mailed each of the designs to ourselves to test the bleed lines and mailing quality.

We spent $532 on facebook ads, and around $130 on google ads, but had a promotion for $100 off. We got zero orders from google ads and 1 order from the facebook ads.

In total over the holiday we lost around $500. However, we now have many hundreds of contacts that we plan on doing Snazzycard mailings to next holiday season. We also plan on promoting in more free places, as the ads are not sustianable.

We are also working on enhancing our website design and adding many new non-holiday designs to try and capture Thank you cards, announcements, and other occassions.

November 1, 2020 Started Beta Testing

We started beta testing with small facebook ad spend and friends and family. We used upwork to outsource creating designs, which my wife, Steph, managed while I built the site and imported the designs into the site. We realized we needed a lot more designs as well, and couldn't afford more upwork designs, so in parallel my wife is creating designs.

September 15, 2020 Came up with the idea

My wife and I were talking about how time consuming and pricey holiday cards are. We were thinking at the time of different ideas that could be our next project, and the idea of holiday cards was really interesting. Would people be interested in sending their holiday cards this year as postcards, if it was super easy and more affordable than traditional enveloped offerings?

We only had a few weeks to build the site and get it turned on to start testing, but we were optimistic that it will do well
