Crossed the 1M ARR bar! 🍾

This was a slow grind - but I'm darn proud.

It took us:

  • 7 years
  • 3795887 sessions
  • 6923102 pageviews
  • 188 blog posts
  • 53353 signups
  • 2252 paying customers
  • 3 major versions
  • 9000+ commits
  • 9 teammates

We managed to stay profitable, too!

Massive congrats on the achievement but also the data! It's rare that you get to see what goes into such an achievement. Good luck on getting to 2M ARR

Thank you! Fun fact: one of my partners really hates public bragging about revenue. He (rightly) thinks that many millions in revenue could be generated by a sh*tty business with a poor culture and abysmal margins. I get that, but I really wanted to share this milestone with the community. So I proposed including all of the not-so-sexy data points showing what goes behind getting to that 1M. And of course mention the fact that we stayed profitable doing so. Anyway, thanks for the comment!

"...not so sexy data..." there is no such thing : )

    Amazing, thanks for the numbers!

Would love to see an MRR chart :)

Greate work! Can I ask how you hold up to this value - "Develop user-driven features based on real pains and requirements"?

      Good question!

In the beginning, it came naturally. We were dogfooding, so building for devs (us) and talking with lots of them.

Afterwards, it became more of an informed process. We identified and mapped activation and retentions problems with planned stories in our roadmap. We did so using automated exit surveys, customer interviews (trying JTBD right now), Amplitude/GA/custom product + marketing analytics.

We're now spending more time talking with merchants, also. We want to make sure the UX is great for them too after a developer handoffs their live store.

      Hope this helps!

Very cool. I love that you charge for use. I despise having to pay a monthly fee when starting out. But pay as you go let's me learn, try and integrate then we both succeed.

I just wanted to say I love your website design (especially on mobile). The subtle yet effective branding and use of brand colors throughout the website, blog posts, and custom images is quite effective!

Thanks! We're actually in the process of redesigning it, but it's good to know this one isn't too bad. 😊

    @thefln

What a fantastic achievement! Moreso that you were profitable, which puts you in the <1% category of early stage companies.

    1. 1

Yeah, thanks! Profits help solve problems, a lot!

What an awesome milestone @thefln!! Congratulations to you and the team! I want to thank you for all the blog posts that Snipcart has put out. It is clear to all of us how much effort goes into creating that content, and in addition to creating an awesome product, Snipcart has shared so much knowledge with the community.
