AI marketing copilot for small business / startups

March 26, 2024 Rebranded and on track for launching a new product

Hey all,

It's been a while! So I found a great cofounder at YC startup school after a lengthy search for the right founder. We've partnered up and are building the AI Marketing Copilot to help small businesses and startups launch faster with AI marketing content and automation tools.

We first built out a really neat scheduler that would convert an image to a caption and lots of other cool stuff. But.... there was one problem. Close to launching, we decided to submit for Facebook App Review and OMG what a shit show it is right now.

We've submitted for FB app review 4 times and each time we get copy-paste responses from someone in Asia reviewing our app. We've had to create fake FB accounts which they seem to keep locking us out of. It's a mind field. Their official test users feature for giving them an FB account to test the integration with has been down for over a year and FB doesn't seem to give a F***. Their support channels are inundated with people going through the same process and complaining and no one seems to be listening. I guess they don't make much money from this so don't care. So.. we're pivoting away from scheduling for the time being.

As some of you will know, Social Image App (now AdVentur.ai), was originally an Image Automation API. We're going to focus on generating on-brand creatives and on-brand AI blog post generation.

We'd love it if you'd sign up for our waitlist 😉

Catch you all soon! Happy Indie hacking!

July 19, 2020 MVP Launched

Hey everyone!

Super nervous about launching since I know there bugs - but everyone has basically said to launch with bugs and fix as you go! I've been struggling with the battle of "just one more feature / bug fix" for too long now.

I've got a tonne of features / bug fixes / improvements in the pipeline which I will gradually roll out each day (if anyone has a suggestion for a roadmap service to use then let me know!).

The Image Automation API itself is fast and easy to use. You can find the documentation for the API here https://www.socialimage.app

Simply hit the API and get a unique image back! Use the in-app template editor to design your templates and then generate endless unique versions.

I'm in the process of getting my Zapier integration approved also which makes generating images a breeze.

Cheers! I’m going to do a lot of improvements to the marketing and I’ll make sure to add some examples and demos of the api in use! Thank you for the feedback.

July 16, 2020 MVP launching tomorrow

I started building the Social Image App in March and since then have learnt so much! I’ve been coding for over 10 years and, even so, this was technically challenging. I’ve built the entire app using javascript (NodeJS and React).

This was due to:

  • the popularity of JavaScript and thus easier to maintain the product in
  • my experience with the language
  • ability to serve statically from S3

The backend of the app is built with AWS Amplify. Although amplify is a fairly new project, it is extremely powerful to go from 0-100 real quick. The image automation api and the business logic is running via AWS lambda - which means I can scale quickly and keep running costs and maintenance ridiculously low.

It’s been one hell of a journey so far but it’s been 100% worth it. One thing I’m struggling with is being able to launch with bugs. I’ve seen my 5 or so competitors apps and they have bugs... so logically it seems okay to launch and fix on the go. There must be a word for this fear of launching a product with bugs!?

Enough for now - I’ll update tomorrow after launching 😊
