June 27, 2025 Built this solo. Let me show you.

Hi Indie Hackers 👋

I just launched https://socialrally.io
a gamified SaaS I built alone, through 5000 hours of code, obsession, and vision.

🎯 It’s an engagement engine.
A way to generate UGC… without making it look like UGC.
A viral lever to activate your audience —
and drive them where it really matters for you:
your site, your Insta, your YouTube, your TikTok… you name it.

🚀 This is version beta 1.01.
Beta… for the label.
Truth is, it stands strong. It’s just waiting to be tested in the wild.

If you see the potential, you’re already ahead.

Create your account, shoot me an email —
and I’ll unlock free unlimited access for you.

In return?

→ Your honest feedback.

→ And maybe a few crazy use cases I haven’t thought of yet.

Curious to see how you’d use it.

Just opened a account! I will let you after I try it.

Thank you! I just did a huge debug that took me all day — it was making the HopMasters Dashboard completely inaccessible. I just fixed it.
The real bug was sitting in my chair ;-)

          • Supprimé Framer Motion (trop lourd) → animations CSS natives

            T'as toute mon admiration ✊

        2. 1

          🔥 Merci, vraiment.

          Merci encore, alter ego 👊

          1. 1

T'inquiète pas t'es pas seule. Rien qu'avec cette motivation pour aller jusqu'au bout c'est déjà quelque chose de précieux.

Je suis avec toi à 100% pour la suite 🤜🏾🤛🏾

May 29, 2025 I Survived 1 Year of Solo Dev. Thanks, Stripe. Screw You, .js File.

This Sunday marks exactly one year to the day since I wrote the first line of code for SocialRally.

I told myself:
"It'll take what… a month? Two, tops." 😅
(Yeah, no.)

The day I started, a hurricane was approaching Mexico.
And now, almost like a cosmic joke, another one is expected next week.
The circle might just be closing.

💥 After 12 months of solo dev, sleepless nights, high highs, low lows, exploding features, and ghost bugs (looking at you, .js file 👻),
I’m about to launch the Beta.
(Not a real Beta… but not a fake one either. Beta-but-not-Beta-Beta, you get it 😂)

I haven’t posted here in two weeks.

Not because I quit.
Because I was shipping. Relentlessly.

💥 Integrated the full Stripe payment system
💥 Carefully structured pricing plans (with names true to the “hop” universe)
💥 Built features for agencies: multi-rally under aliases + custom URLs
💥 Gave Hopa (my built-in AI) a huge upgrade
💥 Real-time point tracking bar
💥 Two new landing pages
💥 Cleaned hundreds of lines of code
💥 Spent $65 on Opus to tell me… I was editing the wrong file 👻
💥 And then, Stripe. Oh Stripe.

I went back and forth:
Should I custom-code my own subscription logic? Or trust Stripe’s customer portal?

Eventually I told myself:
👉 Let everyone do their job. Stripe knows theirs.
Let Stripe handle it.

Did it spare me the pain? Not exactly 😅
But I had learned a few things from building the booking system of my other business
(shameless plug for Adorable Sailing 🛥️).

True story:
While building SocialRally, a travel agency asked for a booking link.
Stripe was already open, so I whipped one up in 2 minutes and sent it.
An hour later, they replied:
“Wait… did you really rename Adorable Sailing to SocialRally?”

Oops.
I’d sent the payment link… from the wrong Stripe account 😅
(Which explains why my product page says $200/month by the way 😂)

Two lessons:

  1. Always double-check your payment links.

  2. Yes, Stripe and Indie Hackers do play nicely together.

So… if everything goes right:
One year + three days after that first line of code, SocialRally opens its doors — Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025.

But shhh 🤫
I haven’t officially told anyone.
Just here.
To you, IndieHackers.
(Still haven’t met any of you. Still floating in the void.)
But hey — you had the scoop.
Even if you never knew it 😉

May 13, 2025 🛰️ Log from the Void – Entry 008: The First Echo

Stardate: 2025.05.13

The silence cracked today.
Someone I didn’t know replied to one of my posts on X: @RonnyBruknapp.

“Curious to hear more about SocialRally. What problem does it solve that others don't?”

And just like that… I realized I had the answer.
Not just in a pitch deck.
Not just in a roadmap.
But in my fire.
In the decision to build something that sends people out, not in.

Most platforms are built to trap attention.
To keep users scrolling.
To inflate a number that doesn’t do anything.

SocialRally does the opposite.
It’s a reverse social SaaS — designed to move people.

Passive attention becomes action:
→ Clicks. Bookings. Signups. Buys. Shares.

It’s not built for vanity.
It’s built for creators who want something real to happen.

That reply? It was small.
But in the void, even a whisper sounds like thunder.

Thanks, Ronny.
More than you know.

May 12, 2025 🚦 Is SocialRally For You?

I built SocialRally for people who believe
that attracting customers online has become way too hard.

It’s for those who want to:
create interactive experiences that turn passive attention into real actions
(buying, booking, subscribing, sharing, supporting).

I truly believe that by using what I’ve created, you’ll get:
measurable results and real impact on your audience.

❌ But it’s NOT for:

– Creators who just want to inflate their likes or follower count
– People looking for a passive, magic solution (plug & play with zero involvement)
– Businesses betting everything on paid ads, with no interest in organic or community traction
– Those who avoid fun, interactive experiences
– Teams who don’t care about measuring impact

🚀 I’m this close to launching.

May 10, 2025 ✨ The Essence of SocialRally

🛰️ Log from the Void – Entry 007
Stardate: 2025.05.12
Posted. Built. Designed.
Still… the silence echoes.
But that’s fine — because this? This is for the long game.
Not for likes. Not for clicks.
For the ones who will one day find this, and say:
“Wait… this existed already?”
Today’s transmission: 👇

A SocialRally™ is a sequence of Hop.
Each Hop is a step to complete, an action to take.

The HopMaster™ designs the path.
They choose the challenges, place the clues, shape the experience.

The Hooper™ follows the thread.
They click, they search, they find.

Hop ➝ Mission ➝ Answer ➝ Points ➝ Next Hop ➝

The playground is as wide as the web.
Anywhere there’s a URL, a clue can be hidden — the spark that unlocks the next Hop.

Powered by our SmartHopEngine™, Hoopers™ move forward.
Surprises, detours, turns.
They learn, they wonder, they remember.

Sometimes a detail.
Sometimes a brand.

Then they click.
They book.
They buy.
They like.
They comment.
They interact.
They share.
They challenge.

They’re surprised, they remember…

and THEN… they talk about it.
Exactly as Seth Godin has been teaching us all along.

Got a product to sell, a service to promote, or a message to share?
SocialRally™ was built—designed and coded—to help you reach your goals.

May 8, 2025 💥 The First Reverse Social SaaS

We didn’t build a social media.
We didn’t build a network.
We built the bridge between them.
And then… flipped it.

Most platforms are designed to keep users inside.
To collect clicks.
To own the audience.
To serve the algorithm.

SocialRally flips that.

We don’t want your users to stay.
We want them to go —
→ To your story.
→ To your site.
→ To what actually matters.

And we make that journey irresistible!

We don’t track engagement.
We create it.

We don’t feed the algorithm.
We break the loop.

We don’t steal attention.
We give it back — to you.

No tricks.
No traps.
Just movement.

SocialRally it’s a mission engine for the open web — and it’s yours to command.

console.log("Next mission: keep shouting into the void until it echoes back.")

  • Roadmap: adding CI pipeline & automated tests

📊 Monitoring (coming soon):

  • PostHog, Sentry, etc.

💡 The Bottom Line:
SocialRally is built to be solid and scalable. No overpromises here—just clean architecture and a pragmatic approach. The goal: offer creators & brands a reliable platform that works smoothly, no drama.

We’re now 98% ready 🚀—final stretch before early access.

A little personal note:

“Oh, and for those wondering: why is the database hosted in Paris? Simple: SocialRally was originally built to support my other business (Adorable Sailing), which mainly targeted a European audience. But like many good stories... it evolved. Today, it's grown into a SaaS with international ambitions . The tech setup is ready to scale across multiple regions when the time comes .”

And the front-end? I know you’re curious.
SocialRally isn’t just well-coded—it’s thoughtful, robust, and built to truly engage creators and their communities in a smooth, fun experience. I’m super picky about the details: with the backend nearly done, polishing the front-end feels like the cherry on top 🍒. Can’t wait to show you 💥.

May 1, 2025 The (Not-So-Secret) Dream of Solo Devs: Building the Next Unicorn

Let’s Be Honest

You can say:
“I’m doing this for the passion.”
“Just to learn.”
Or even:
“It’s just a fun little side project.”

But deep down?
Every line of code holds that tiny, dangerous potential…
the power to change the game.

💥 Let’s not kid ourselves:
Who doesn’t secretly dream of building something huge?

It All Starts with ONE Damn Line of Code

At first?
It’s nothing.
One line. Two lines.
A console.log that finally shows what you wanted.

Then you keep going.
Late nights. Endless weekends.
Bugs that make you question your life choices .

Each line?
A small step toward something bigger.
Every. Single. Time.

The Truth

We tell ourselves:
“It’s just a side project. No pressure.”
But if you're serious about building?
It’s never just about shipping.

It’s because deep down, you KNOW:
There’s a chance you’re onto something huge.
And that spark?
It keeps you coming back.

Chasing Unicorns: The Myth, The Reality, The New Rules

So… What’s a Unicorn, Really?

In the startup world, a unicorn is a privately held company valued at over $1 billion USD.
The term was coined in 2013 by Aileen Lee to describe how rare these massive success stories were—like spotting a mythical creature in the wild.

Today? The herd has grown… but unicorns are still exceptional beasts.
They’re the ultimate symbol of tech success: a product that not only works but explodes—scaling fast, making waves, and leaving competitors in the dust.

The Cold, Hard Stats

  • ~1,250 unicorns worldwide (2025)

  • 20% are SaaS

  • 50%+ are pure tech (SaaS, Fintech, AI…)

  • Combined valuation: $4.5 trillion USD

  • Average time to unicorn status: 6–8 years

  • Average funding raised: $300M+ before unicorn status

  • Fastest unicorn: Bytedance (TikTok) hit $1B+ in under 2 years

  • ~90% of startups fail before ever getting close

The odds?
Roughly 0.00006% of startups become unicorns.
Yep, that’s 6 out of every 10,000.

Reality Check

Most unicorns don’t just happen.
They’re backed by:

  • Big teams (think 50+ employees early on)

  • Massive VC rounds (Series A, B, C…)

  • Powerful networks (access to money, media, mentors)

  • Product-market fit that’s dialed in like a laser.

In short? They’re not built in a garage overnight. 🚫

BUT… every so often, someone flips the script.

  • The outsiders.

  • The solo founders.

  • The no-funding rebels who grow something huge against the odds.

They exist. They’re rare—but damn, when they hit, they inspire.

TL;DR: It’s Not a Fairytale… It’s a Battlefield

Chasing unicorns isn’t about magic.
It’s about grit, precision, and relentless execution.
Most of us won’t make it.
But the dream? It keeps us pushing—because that tiny spark is all it takes to start a wildfire.

This isn’t a storybook quest.
It’s a fight against dragons—the obstacles, the doubts, the brutal odds.
But we chase unicorns anyway.
Because even if they’re rare, they can be caught.

Why Do We Chase It?

  • The ultimate achievement:
Building something that truly matters. Something that leaves a mark.

  • Passion:
Code is just the tool. What drives us is the belief we can change a small—or big—piece of the world.

  • Impact & recognition:
Creating something people actually want to use. Something indispensable.

  • The dream of independence:
Owning your life. Your rhythm. Your vision. No permissions needed.

The Must-Have Ingredients to Aim for a Unicorn

  • A clear vision + flawless execution

  • Extreme resilience (an iron mindset)

  • A gigantic market (no way around it)

  • Demonstrable traction (ideas aren’t enough)

  • The ability to build a solid team (even if you start solo)

  • Ability to raise (or generate) funds

  • Good timing & a bit of luck (always)

Check 5+ boxes? Let’s go.
Not there yet? Keep grinding—nothing’s set in stone.

My Unicorn? She’s White… With a Flaming Mane

I already talk about it like it exists. Because in my head… it already does.

Her name? SocialRally.
A unique SaaS, built by hand, solo.
Right now, SocialRally has all the ingredients—or better yet, the DNA and the guts—to become one.

I haven’t unveiled everything yet. The mystery is still thick… but one thing’s for sure:
This project doesn’t just have the potential to become a unicorn… it can birth other unicorns too. 💥

Yes, I talk with the conviction of someone who’s already won.
Why? Because I’ve put in the work. Long hours. Doubt-filled days. But always with a clear vision.
And because I KNOW that if I execute well, if I stay the course, I’m heading straight toward that dream.

In the past?
Building a unicorn solo was pretty much science fiction.
You needed a full team:

  • Design,

  • Back + front devs,

  • Marketing,

  • Customer support,

  • Translation… everything.

But now? AI changes the game.

Code generation, content, translations, SEO, UI/UX… everything can be accelerated, optimized, automated.

And that changes EVERYTHING
➡️ The solo dev of today… is quickly becoming a one-person army.
➡️ The next big success story? Might just be built by someone alone… with AI at their side.

It could be you. It could be me. We’re still waiting… but it’s coming. And oh, it WILL.

AI is changing the game and making solo dreams more possible than ever.
The solo dev of today is no longer alone—not really.
Because every new tool, every AI assistant… is a teammate in disguise.

And while most unicorns so far were built by teams with funding and infrastructure,
here’s the truth: every legendary company starts the same way—

a spark,
a vision,
and relentless execution.

Ready for some badass stories to fuel your fire?

Some Examples (For the Road)

Canva
Started in 2012 as a simple drag & drop design tool. Now: 100+ million active users, valuation: $40 billion USD.

Slack
Born out of a failed game project. Pivoted to internal messaging ➔ Now: $2B+ annual revenue.

Notion
Quiet for years, then exploded by focusing on flexibility & community. Valuation: $10 billion USD.

Shopify
Originally? A small snowboard e-commerce store. Today? The global e-commerce SaaS leader, powering 800,000+ stores, valuation: $60B+ USD.

Zapier
Launched by 3 guys, no VC at the start, fully remote. Now: 600+ employees, 1,400+ integrations, estimated valuation: $5B+ USD.

It’s easy to look at these unicorns and forget how they started: humble beginnings, quiet launches, zero buzz at first. I haven’t built a unicorn (yet!)—but I know what those early struggles feel like.

I know—it might seem strange to aim for a unicorn while shouting into the void. No network, no traction, no buzz… yet. But honestly? That’s the reality for almost every solo founder at the start.

We show up, again and again—especially when no one’s watching—because that’s how you build the foundation.

But let’s be real: showing up is just the beginning.
At some point, building in silence isn’t enough. You have to reach out, connect, and push your work into new spaces—whether that’s through partnerships, strategic visibility plays, or simply getting your first real users talking.

That’s the game: keep showing up, keep building, but also keep looking for leverage points that get you out of the void.

And if you’re reading this… hey, welcome to the ground floor.

And I’m not just saying that—I’ve lived it. When I started my sailing tour business 5 years ago in Bacalar, Quintana Roo (Mexico), I was just another new face in a crowded tourism market. I posted, I shared, I promoted… often into complete silence. That’s where the idea for SocialRally first sparked.

But I kept showing up. In three languages. Over and over. And today? Adorable Sailing is a 5-star business, recognized and respected. Bang. 💥

What About You?

What’s your story?
Are you deep in code right now, chasing a wild idea?
Or maybe doubting, wondering if it’s even worth it?

Wherever you are—building, struggling, winning—keep pushing.
You don’t need permission. You don’t need a crowd.
You just need to show up, again and again.

Drop your project, your dream, or your current battle in the comments.
Let’s make some noise.

Drop a comment—because big things start with small steps.

April 30, 2025 Why have I been posting non-stop these past few days (and hours) ?

Simple: I’m taking a strategic break.
Not the kind where you sip mojitos on a beach — nope.
A real warrior’s pause to document these 11 intense months of building this beast.

I’m also stepping back a bit before the big launch.
Because yeah… my SaaS and I? We’re in a full-on love story. But let’s be real:
Even the strongest duos need a little breathing room to come back sharper and stronger. 💥⚔️

So right now?
I’m putting it all out there:
4500 hours of dev, doubts, wins, sleepless nights…
And if it helps someone out there in the interstellar void
well, that’s a win.

And honestly? Writing all this down feels damn good.
Plus, I’m completely in love with the images I’ve been generating 😍.
This whole vibe of dragons, swords, digital Valhalla… it’s become my personal anti-burnout recipe.
(Of course, AI helped me generate the art too. I may be a code warrior, but I totally suck at drawing!)

Here’s the recipe:

Textured Fantasy Comic / Bold Retro Print ChatGPT 4o

It’s my signature visual style — where medieval fantasy meets solo dev burnout.

Expect bold lines, grainy textures, deep blues, fire tones, and just enough drama to make your bugs look like bosses.
Because solo-building a SaaS… feels like a quest.
So I gave it the art it deserved.

And seriously: if you’re reading this, I 100% encourage you to share your own adventure too.
Even if it feels like you’re shouting into the void, like:

console.log("Echo..."); // returns: null

Because trust me — it’s worth it.
And you’ll never look stupid for documenting your journey. Worst case?

  • You make people laugh (for better or worse 😅),

  • You help someone without knowing it,

  • You vent,

  • Or you just clear your head.

We grind through 15-hour solo dev days…
And half the time, we don’t even notice when our productivity starts to tank.
For me? Diving into a universe — with my dragons 🐉, my swords ⚔️, my thoughts…
that keeps me sane AS HELL.

P.S. No clue what time it is right now… but who cares about algorithms anyway

Plan A: scroll until your eyeballs bleed.

It’s 22:47. and I’m staring down a monster:
1,700+ lines of JSON, duplicate keys everywhere… Thanks to Cursor’s caffeine-fueled meltdown . The UI? Total chaos. Translations? Gone. Nothing but pain.

So I tried Plan B:

# 8 seconds later npx chatgpt "clean my cursed.json" > fresh.json

💥 Boom: a squeaky-clean JSON — merged keys, no more build errors.
Moral of the story? When your code smells like burnt toast and even your linter ghosts you, hand the mic to AI: it does the dirty work while you tweet-ship your next feature.

🔧 But honestly… the real pro move?

Huge translation files = ticking time bombs.
Instead of stuffing 2,000 lines into a single fr.json or es.json, break that beast down into smart namespaces:

Example:

  • /locales/fr/nav.json

  • /locales/fr/home.json

  • /locales/fr/levels.json

  • /locales/fr/errors.json

…and do the same for each language.

Then set up your i18n backend to load files by namespace. With i18next, it’s clean and simple:

i18n.init({ lng: 'fr', ns: ['nav', 'home', 'levels', 'errors'], defaultNS: 'common', backend: { loadPath: '/locales/{{lng}}/{{ns}}.json', }, });

✅ Results?

  • More readable

  • Easier to maintain

  • No more endless scrolls or cryptic bugs when Cursor freaks out

⚙️ Bonus: AUTO-SPLIT SCRIPT (for devs in beast mode 💪)

💡 If your file is massive and you want to break it down by top-level key (like nav, home, etc.), here’s a quick Node.js script to do it:

const fs = require('fs'); const raw = JSON.parse(fs.readFileSync('fr.json', 'utf8')); Object.keys(raw).forEach((namespace) => { fs.writeFileSync( ./locales/fr/${namespace}.json, JSON.stringify(raw[namespace], null, 2) ); });

How to use:

  1. Save it as splitJson.js

  2. Run:

    node splitJson.js

  3. 💥 BAM: fresh files, one per namespace, neatly stored in /locales/fr.

🔥 Real talk:
Yeah, it’s a bit of a pain at first. You’ll curse, pull your hair out… but afterwards?
You’ll THANK yourself.

Stay badass, ship smart — and remember:
Clean code today saves your sanity tomorrow. 🤘
