Hey everyone,

I recently launched Social Save, a fast, online utility designed to let users download Instagram Reels, Photos, and Carousels in high quality without the typical layout shifts, massive pop-ups, and security red flags that plague most existing tools.

When building this, my primary focus wasn't just functionality, it was user experience and mobile speed.

Most competitors in this niche take anywhere from 6 to 12 seconds to fully render on a mobile device because they are weighed down by heavy tracking scripts and intrusive ad networks. I wanted to see how far I could push optimization for a modern utility site.

After running the production build through Google PageSpeed Insights on mobile, here are the results:

• Performance: 95/100

• Accessibility: 95/100

• Best Practices: 100/100

• SEO: 100/100

How I approached the optimization:

1. Bumping Contrast for Mobile: Google Lighthouse is notoriously picky about readability on mobile screens. I tightened up the color palette, upgrading subtle UI text elements from standard grays to higher-contrast tones (like switching out slate-500 for slate-700) to guarantee legibility on small devices.

2. Accessible Element Naming: Most utility tools hide buttons behind icons (like a simple search or download SVG) without giving assistive technologies a way to read them. I mapped out clear aria-label tags across the main navigation dropdowns, language selectors, and actions so the app remains entirely accessible.

3. Multi-Language Architecture: To make sure the site can scale globally without taking a performance hit, the utility uses clean, dynamic routing to handle localization (currently supporting English and Español) natively.

What's next?

The site is officially indexed, and the JSON-LD schemas are pulling in clean star ratings right in the search results. Now that the technical core is locked down, I’m shifting my focus entirely to organic distribution and building up domain trust.
