$3k MRR in 45 days!

Actually, we blew past it in a single day and are already at $3.1k!

More importantly, I've continued to only get positive feedback about the newsletter (and the newly released subscription site), which is far more important to me than the growth.

I attribute all of this success to getting the fundamentals right when I was starting the company. I started by getting $200 in pre-sales before the newsletter even existed, during which I talked to 35 potential customers and narrowed down my best-fit customer. I also explored three different channels until I found two that worked reliably for me.

If I hadn't done those two things, there's no way the growth would have come as easily as it has.

I'm looking to become an official Baremetrics open startup in the near future so that everyone can see and learn from my metrics, but for now feel free to ask away in the comments below!

How much did you charge during pre-sales? And how did you find them?

Hey Sai, I shared every pre-sale conversation I had as a case study inside this template: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/my-notion-template-for-validating-ideas-bce4497119

I found them by posting valuable content on Reddit, IH, and twitter, and offering more free content for people who emailed me.

Our readers are mostly people who are actively looking for their next software idea. That includes some software startups that want to rapidly build projects, but the average user is going to be someone like an IHer, who maybe has built some products before but didn't see much success, and wants to read about some "seeds" that they can take and run with!

Haha we'd love to have you, but I'd much rather see you succeed from the start! Best of luck with your product!
