Soothe

Anonymous App for Kindness

July 7, 2025 Slowly getting engagement on my app

Soothe has grown into a thriving community of 4,000 users with 1,500 monthly active users. What makes me proud is seeing people truly understand the app’s purpose – opening up, venting their feelings, and receiving kind, compassionate replies.

While I’m still working on increasing app store reviews, I’m proud of what I’ve achieved so far with minimal marketing investment. Now, I’m at a pivotal point where I’m focused on building new features to deepen engagement and retention.

      Hey!!
These are high-level steps that I took with a limited budget
      - Created TikTok account - used some b-roll footage and spend $5 per day budget behind sponsered advt redirecting to my website
      - Focused on Instagram stories and boosted it
      - Used reddit to connect with community and send DM to potential users

      Btw I have B2C product

December 28, 2024 Made my first $30 with an app I created to learn app development

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my side hustle story and get some advice. A few months ago, I started learning app development as a challenge and created an app called Soothe. It’s an anonymous platform where people can share how they’re feeling, ask questions, or vent, and others can respond with kind and empathetic replies. The idea is to promote kindness as a daily habit while building a safe and supportive space.

I added a “tip” option in the app to support moderation efforts and keep it running, and to my surprise, I’ve already made my first $30! It’s a small start, but it feels great to see some traction.

Now, I’m trying to figure out how to promote the app effectively. I’ve considered TikTok, but I feel a bit unsure about being the face or voice in videos since I have an Indian accent and wonder if that might be a barrier.

I’d love to hear any advice or creative ideas on how to market an app like this, especially if you’ve been in a similar situation. Thanks in advance!

I’m working on Soothe because I believe kindness and empathy can transform how we connect with others. It provides a safe, anonymous space where people can share their feelings and receive kind replies.
