Sora2 Video Generator
Sora2 Video Generator | No Watermark
Hey fellow indie hackers!
OpenAI just dropped Sora2, and I've been completely obsessed for the past few weeks. As someone who's been tinkering with AI tools and looking for that next big opportunity, I think I might have found something special.
## Why Sora2 Has Me So Excited
Look, I've tried pretty much every AI video tool out there - Runway, Pika, you name it. But Sora2? It's different. The physics actually make sense now. No more floating objects or weird gravity-defying movements that scream "AI-generated."
Here's what blew my mind:
- Realistic physics: Basketball bounces correctly, water behaves like water
- Synchronized audio: No more silent videos that need post-production
- Multi-shot sequences: You can create actual stories, not just random clips
## The Opportunity I'm Chasing
After playing around for a day, I realized something huge: content creators are drowning in demand but can't scale video production.
Think about it:
- TikTok creators need fresh content daily
- YouTube Shorts are exploding
- Instagram Reels drive crazy engagement
- But hiring video editors? Expensive AF.
The market is screaming for a solution, and Sora2 might just be it.
## My Current Build
I'm working on a simple wrapper around Sora2 that makes it dead simple for creators to generate viral-ready content. Here's my approach:
The Problem: Sora2's interface is too technical for most creators
My Solution: A simplified dashboard where you just describe what you want
Current features I'm building:
- One-click aspect ratio optimization (9:16 for TikTok, 16:9 for YouTube)
- Template library for common video types
- Batch generation for content planning
- Direct export to social platforms
## What I've Learned So Far
The Good:
- Sora2's quality is genuinely impressive
- Creators are willing to pay for time-saving tools
- The API is surprisingly stable for something so new
The Challenges:
- Credits are expensive ($0.12 per generation adds up fast)
- Generation time can be slow during peak hours
- Need to educate users on writing good prompts
## My Go-to-Market Strategy
I'm starting super lean:
1. Week 1-2: Build MVP with basic prompt interface
2. Week 3: Launch on Product Hunt for initial feedback
3. Week 4: Start reaching out to micro-influencers for beta testing
4. Month 2: Iterate based on user feedback, add templates
5. Month 3: Launch paid tiers and referral program
## Technical Stack
Keeping it simple:
- Frontend: Next.js (because I know it well)
- Backend: Vercel functions + Supabase
- Payments: Stripe (obviously)
- AI: Sora2 API + some prompt optimization
No need to overcomplicate things in v1.
## What I'm Worried About
Real talk - here are my biggest concerns:
1. API costs: If this scales, I need to nail the unit economics
2. OpenAI changes: What if they launch their own creator tool?
3. Competition: How long before everyone builds this?
4. Content policies: AI-generated content rules keep changing
## Early Validation Signals
I've been lurking in creator Discord servers and Facebook groups. The demand is real:
- "I need 30 TikToks per month but can't afford an editor"
- "Wish I could just describe a video and have it made"
- "Spending 4 hours editing for a 30-second clip is killing me"
These are the problems I'm solving.
## My Ask to the Community
If you're building in the AI space or know creators who might be interested, I'd love to chat! I'm looking for:
- Beta testers: Creators willing to try early versions
- Feedback: What features would make this a must-have?
- Connections: Introductions to potential users
## What's Next
This week I'm focusing on:
- Finishing the core video generation flow
- Setting up user authentication and credit system
- Creating a landing page that converts
I'll be sharing updates here as I build. The AI video space is moving fast, but I think there's room for tools that actually solve real creator problems.
The bottom line: Sora2 is impressive tech, but tech alone doesn't build businesses. It's all about finding the right problem to solve and executing fast.
What do you think? Am I onto something or missing the mark? Drop a comment - I'd love to hear your thoughts!
