The original images need resizing. For example if I open the first image in my browser I get the original file which is 2704x1512 pixels and 6.3MB. It loads very slowly over my crappy internet.
You need to resize these down to the actual size you use (432x242) for efficiency. This will increase performance and reduce your bandwidth costs.
I don't know for certain but I think Firebase can do this for you: https://firebase.google.com/products/extensions/storage-resize-images
Maybe someone else more familiar with Firebase can help here!

It's a very pretty site - well done - but you need to rescale the image files as they are huge.
60MB to load your page. Hope you're not paying for bandwidth(!!)
