September 2, 2026 Bootstrapped to 100,000+ Organic Installs with Zero Marketing Spend

Today, I'm officially bringing SouqFriday to the Indie Hackers community. Over the past 6 years, I’ve built this AI-driven classifieds platform as a solo developer, focusing entirely on product-market fit and organic growth across the GCC and broader MENA region.

6 Years Bootstrapping a MENA Classifieds App as a Solo Dev: 100K+ Installs, 54K+ Users, $0 CAC. Seeking Acquisition.

The Background For the past six years, I’ve been building SouqFriday from the ground up as a solo founder and full-stack developer. My vision was to unify the fragmented classifieds and recruitment markets across Arabic-speaking countries. Today, the platform operates on a completely custom architecture, growing entirely organically without a single dollar spent on paid marketing.

The Product & Features SouqFriday is an AI-driven digital marketplace handling real estate, vehicles, goods, and jobs. To eliminate cross-border friction, I engineered several proprietary features:

  • Smart auto-detection for instant user location and local currency recognition.

  • AI-powered ad copywriting engines that help users generate optimized listings instantly.

  • A real-time multimedia chat system supporting voice notes and file attachments.

  • Dedicated B2B tools, including verified corporate badges and an integrated recruitment portal.

The Tech Stack

The infrastructure is built for infinite scalability across regional markets:

  • Custom PHP backend leveraging PSR-4 autoloading, Symfony Components, and Vite.

  • Native Android components built with Java/Kotlin, live on Google Play and Huawei AppGallery.

  • High-performance MySQL database structured for rapid multi-country queries.

Traction & Business Model

  • 100,000+ organic app installs and 54,000+ active users.

  • Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) of exactly $0, driven by built-in network effects and social media reach.

  • Monetized via a high-margin freemium model: individual users are free, while commercial merchants (B2B) pay for tiered subscriptions and digital wallet credit packages to promote listings.

The Ask: Why I'm Exiting I have successfully achieved product-market fit and built a highly defensible technical asset. However, scaling to dominate the entire MENA region now requires a dedicated marketing team and operational capital. I am seeking a strategic acquisition to pass the platform to an entity equipped to activate its full monetization potential.

I’d love to connect with potential buyers, investors, or fellow founders who have navigated exits for bootstrapped platforms.

100K installs and 54K users is a serious asset. Are buyers valuing the existing user/network effects more, or the technical platform itself?

It’s a powerful combination of both, but anchored by a structural moat: organic search (SEO) dominance paired with an autonomous PWA infrastructure. Rather than burning capital on paid acquisition, SouqFriday captures high-intent transactional traffic directly through deep localization and programmatic SEO across the MENA and GCC regions. For an acquirer, this means they aren't just buying an existing user base or mobile installs—they are acquiring a zero-ops, self-moderating classifieds engine engineered for organic discoverability, high session retention, and a near-zero customer acquisition cost (CAC).

That’s a useful distinction. The interesting question for an acquirer is how much of that SEO moat and organic traffic is actually transferable versus founder-dependent. I’d be interested in digging into that privately — what’s the best email to reach you on?

The core traffic is entirely organic and programmatic, baked directly into the site's architecture rather than tied to personal efforts. Appreciate the insight—feel free to drop a note via the contact options on the platform if you'd like to explore further!

That’s useful. I’d be interested in exploring the acquisition side a bit further. What’s the best email to reach you on?

About

I built SouqFriday to bridge a gap in the Arab classifieds market for a deeply localized, technologically advanced platform. It exists to provide users with a frictionless buying and selling experience by leveraging AI.
